I don't think China wants to rule the world as some posters have commented. It is quite possible that China wants a dominating influence, open markets for its goods and access to resources abroad.
.........

Is that why they have a dictatorship implemented in Tibet?

Is that why they have stated they will go to war when Taiwan declares it's independence and write their own Constitution?

Is that why Chavez is stating the contrary after talking with the Communist regime in China and stating this freely to the world?

Good post.
The so called American Empire was not built on taking and controlling territory like previous empires.

yes you are right but it was build to manipulate the markets with control of production after wwll and so we did and so we prosper.

In 70 years the sweat and blood of our fathers has been turned into nothing but ca ca.

As a nation we ruled the world, everybody turned to the US for everything.

We rebuilt Europe and Japan,

Our military was dominant.

We made the best automobiles.

We built 41,000 miles of national highway over two decades.

In 1946, one in three U.S. workers was employed in the manufacturing industry. Today, less than one in ten workers makes something.

What happened? corruption took over government, corporate greed and capitalism became tainted.

The government politicians and their moneyed backers have sold the idea that Americans could be the thinkers for the world, while other countries could do the menial work of producing stuff. After thirty years we are left with a hollowed out economy of paper pushers. It may be a reach to transition the Wall Street geniuses who created MBSs, Cd's, and CDO’s into jobs building bridges. The manufacturing jobs are gone. Our workers are left to sweep the streets they used to own.

We allowed communist countries and feudal monarchies dictate what America should buy and how much it will pay for energy.

After three decades of burning our furniture to keep warm, we are left owing the rest of the world $2.7 trillion.

Our wealth is gone.

Ben Bernanke is actively trying to drive the value of the U.S. dollar down, while decreasing interest rates paid on this government debt. As Ben prints trillions of new dollars, the value of China’s, Japan’s and the oil exporting countries’ holdings goes down.

The U.S. will run a $2 trillion deficit in the next year. We need these foreign countries to buy at least $1 trillion of our new debt. We are sure they will do so. Our reasoning is, what else can they do? From a purely financial standpoint, it is insanity for a country to make an investment in an asset paying 2.5 percent interest, when in one day last week the Federal Reserve purposely knocked the value of the dollar down 5 percent in one day, wiping out two years of interest income.
.

When China finally cement his hold of supremacy America will become a nation of nothing but servants.

Wake up people and realized that we have been sold by the same people that we have elected through the years to protect us, the constitution and our nation.

Wake up and stop sipping the patriotic juice of what we used to be, because we are not more.

I loved the view that "USA is protecting/policing the world" as like it was doing it for some Samaritan reasons. Sorry but I call it BS! USA was just doing what any empire in the human history were doing... extending its power around for its own sake and profit.

Stop with the delusional samaritan propaganda. Every country do what is best for its own interesting (the elite of each country). I don't buy the BS propaganda that EUA policing the world to fight the bad people.

Thats going to change soon and youll hear all the people like both of you who think we need to police the world crying because taxes are going up. Sorry you cant have it both ways the warfare welfare state and have the low taxes we have. One or the other needs to change. Ill take lower taxes and no policing the world.

Wrong, I am a Republican, and as a true Republican I want less government, and less taxes, not more.

We have been in large wars and taxes did not increase, instead more jobs were created.

I am not advocating to go to war with everyone in the world, but my statement is to show that you are wrong.

In today's world you can't isolate your country, because that will be the destruction of your country. More so when the plan of some nations is to have every country, including the U.S. under their iron rule.

Wrong Marg, Socialist programs were implemented, such as the Federal Reserve which a Democrat Woodrow Wilson signed into law in 1913.

Six years later Woodrow Wilson saw that this implementation of the Socialist program was going to destroy the United States, and here is what he stated.

"I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is now controlled by its system of credit.
We are no longer a government free of opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men." U.S. President Woodrow Wilson 1919

In part I agree with you. China, and other Communist nations will soon have the power shifted to them, and this will bring opression for the whole world.

What i disagree with is the last statement. We need to get back to our roots, and advocate those policies, programs, and rights which the forefathers of this nation agreed on.

We, ALL Americans should see ourselves as sons, and daugthers of the Republic and be advocates of this Great Republic.

A true Republican is not represented by today's Republicans in power.

A true Republican is an advocate of the Republic, and everything that the forefathers of this nation agreed on, and is against ALL forms of dictatorships, including Corporate, or STATE dictatorships.

BTW, after all the so called "Red Scare" in which the American people, and others around the world claimed, "there is no such thing", let's see if it is true or not what those Americans, and others were warning us about the direction the country seemed to be going.

This is a link to a video for a speech from 1974.

mrfeature.com...

Listen, and watch the video in that link, and see whether or not the so called "Red Scare" was/is true or not.

BTW, I give credit for the above link to member SkitzoFrenic, who gave the above video in the following link, and where more information can be found about this discussion.

How exactly is China in controlof us? because we owe them what you all say are worthless fiat dollars?

There exist a simple solution. Print the money and pay them off. The decline in the value of the currency would eliminate them as the low cost provider and the US would once again be the largest net exporter in the world.

Just pure craziness on this board.

Damn Chavez worshippers.

I see only one problem with that argument. Who says that we have to manufacture consumer items to be a world leader? Where does it say that we have to produce items to be a world power? Show me one thing that states that we have to have a large manufacturing workforce to maintain our global presents?

I don't know about you but I don't want to spend day after day doing the same thing over and over again like a robot. I am seriously starting to question even if China is this emerging world power. I don't say new dominant power because there is a lot more to it then just having the largest manufacturing force. I mean since the "Crises" China seems to be hurting more than other countries because they rely heavily on consumer goods and when the world economies shrink like they have that leads to a much greater stress on their system than it has on the west.

There is a great debate going on right now in our very own debate section here at ATS check it out it may surprise you. The US is far from dropping from it's position as world leader.

I find a Biblical significance to this. I was alarmed 2 weeks ago when I heard TBN speak of the 4 horseman of the Apocalypse.

They said all we need now is the 4th which is death. I consider this swine flu outbreak one of the pestilences.

It appears the stage is set for the One world Government.. Now we wait for a global dictator.

I wonder who that will be. I don’t think Obama fits the profile and Gordon Brown is not liked.

The Chinese Communist Party doesn't care about it's people, when are people like you going to understand this?

As long as they become the main world power, they would put their own people through the worse missery, and opression you can imagine.

The Chinese Communist Party has been increasing their military forces, and increased spending for military equipment for several years, and just like Russia does they still see the United States as their main enemy.

Just like the book the Art of War the Chinese have a policy of using any means necessary to win, and become the world power, and this has been shown in their "Unrestricted Warfare" policy.

Unrestricted Warfare (超限战, literally "warfare beyond bounds") is a book on military strategy written in 1999 by two colonels in the People's Liberation Army, Qiao Liang (乔良) and Wang Xiangsui (王湘穗). Its primary concern is how a nation such as China can defeat a technologically superior opponent (such as the United States) through a variety of means. Rather than focusing on direct military confrontation, this book instead examines a variety of other means. Such means include using International Law (see Lawfare) and a variety of economic means to place one's opponent in a bad position and circumvent the need for direct military action.[1]
..............
Alternative methods of attack
Reducing one's opponent, the book notes, can be accomplished in a number of ways other than direct military confrontation. The book notes that these alternative methods "have the same and even greater destructive force than military warfare, and they have already produced serious threats different from the past and in many directions for...national security."

[edit] Lawfare
Lawfare, or political action through transnational or non-governmental organisations can effect a policy change that would be impossible otherwise. Because of the international nature of the modern world and activism, it is much easier for nation-states to affect policy in other nation-states through a proxy.

[edit] Economic warfare
Thanks to the interconnected nature of global economics, one nation can inflict grievous harm on the economy of another nation without taking any offensive action.

[edit] Network warfare
see iWar
One of the better-known alternatives in this book is the idea of attacking networks. Networks are increasingly important in not only data exchange but also transportation, financial institutions, and communication. Attacks that disable networks can easily hamstring large areas of life that are dependent on them for coordination. One example of network warfare would be shutting down a network that supplies power. If there is a significant failure in the power grid caused by the attack, massive power outages could result, crippling industry, defence, medicine, and all other areas of life.

[edit] Terrorism
Another famous instance of Unrestricted Warfare policy is terrorism. Terrorism is used by a group to gain satisfaction for certain demands. Even if these demands are not satisfied, a terrorist attack can have vastly disproportionate effects on national welfare. One only has to look at the economic crisis that followed the terrorist attacks against the United States, or the extensive security measures put in place after those same attacks. Terrorism erodes a nation's sense of security and well being, even if the direct effects of the attacks only concern a minute percentage of the population.

Yes yes we know that already.

China has it's own major issues dealing with Islamic fundamentalists on their western territory. The reason nobody says anything is because hardly any news gets out. On another note once the Chinese themselves get a taste of some wealth they wont go quietly in the night. Once the Genie is out of the bottle it can't be put back in. China IS headed for a massive change and I'm questioning whether we will see that very same Communist government still in power in the future.

China will change alright but I don't think it's the Change they want or Expect.

We are actually seing countries changing more towards more dictatorial regimes..

The United States is implementing more, and more Socialist programs, reminiscent of Hitler's changes, and or the changes in Communist dictatorships...

We are seeing the world govenrments blaming the little people, more and more about every problem, including the hoax of Global Warming, and the claim that "we must depopulate the world to save it"...

The only changes we are seeing is countries turning, more, and more dictatorial, and claiming a One World Government, one World economy must be implemented to save the world.

China is a Communist regime, of course they already have this sort of indoctrination of it's people since childhood, and of servitute/slavery.

Look at the recent news from Australia.

Slash population to save the world: green lobbyist
April 21, 2009

Australia should consider having a one-child policy to protect the planet, an environmental lobby group says.

Sustainable Population Australia says slashing the world's population is the only way to avoid "environmental suicide".

National president Sandra Kanck wants Australia's population of almost 22 million reduced to seven million to tackle climate change.

And restricting each couple to one baby, as China does, is "one way of assisting to reduce the population".

"It's something we need to throw into the mix," the former Democrats parliamentarian told AAP.

More people means more coal-fired electricity, cars, houses, water use and food production, all of which increase greenhouse gas emissions, she said.

www.theage.com.au...

This government already disarmed it's people, or at least most of them, now they have people claiming they need policies like the Communist Chinese have.. All in the name of another hoax to control the people.

BTW, she is not the president of Australia, but of an environmental group in Australia, she is a Democrat, and was an official in Australia's parliament until she resigned at the end of 2008.
