They looked bored, but let out the occasional giggle.

Clad in football shirts, without their families, the two young brothers accused of attempting to kill two boys casually pulled faces with their hands in court yesterday.

The youngsters, aged ten and 11, were barely able to peer over the glass reinforced dock as the Crown prosecutor outlined the graphic and distressing events in a ravine which have sent a wave of revulsion across the UK.
Both children are charged with attempted murderThe younger boy was found wandering a nearby street, drenched and shivering, covered in blood and mud and in a state of shock.

The older boy was found at the bottom of the embankment drifting in and out of consciousness.

The two accused were arrested by police a short time afterwards at a row of allotments nearby.

They are known to have been taken into care by Doncaster Council, which was recently condemned as one of the country's worst performing local authorities

Just disgusts me the way kids act in this day and age, this is the result of very poor parenting and the scum breeding scum system that is being rewarded by the government in the UK for the last twenty years. I dont know if a lot of outsiders know but the government in the UK rewards single mothers and scum bags that dont work with free houses, a lot of which are new builds, benefits and the motivation just to keep popping out babies and n ot working. People like myself who pay a massive amount of tax to live in the UK are disgusted by it.

Wow, that is just disturbing for children as young as they are... I would expect this behavior from 13-15 year olds not ten and 11.

Sickening, absolutely sickening...

This is bringing back to mind the horrific case of Jamie Bulger, which I'm sure any UK ATS'ers of a certain age will remember.

A true underclass exists now and I am at a loss as what we do to rectify the situation.

My heart goes out to the poor victims of these two evil scumbags.

it is sick, but the reason kids are giggling in dock is because they are kids, I am sure they dont realise how severe this situation is or what they have done.

parents should go to jail, it is their fault, the parents.

I could have been another Bulger case as the two accusers did nothing to help the victims and basically left them for dead, and what have we learned from that case, they will serve 7 years in a young offenders institute then get new identities if the public backlash is harsh enough/ If it is not then they will be released and get to start over scot free while the attacks will have massive implications in the victims whole lives. That council seems to have a knack of brining the lowest of the low to the area if you remeber that they put a 17 year old into a care home in the same area and did not tell the foster families that the boy had a history of sexual assaults. He then raped the couples two year old boy and sexually assaulted their 4 year old daughter. Heads should roll in that area

Oh yes they do! I knew right from wrong very early in life... as did ALL of my friends. As the Op says, these kids are merely the product of scum breeding scum.

I feel the same, heads should roll, but it it the state of the world we live in,
something is messing with there heads, television? violent films? upbringing? all could be a factor.

EXCUSE me, me and my wife are on incapacity benefit, we are on course work to eventually get a job, do not brand everyone on benefits as scum ok?. I have been a tear away child, my dad was a full time worker, with a mortgage and i was terrible! so do you lot mind? your on above top secret with that type of attitude.

I gotta agree with you here IRM, kids at that age do know what is right and what is wrong...

Even if someone has been brought up by absolute scum at that age they still have some knowledge that their actions are wrong and unacceptable. It is beyond me how another human can inflict such suffering on another and then laugh about it.

Unfortunately as the OP has said above these sick animals will probably end up with a nice new identity somewhere - able to get on with their lives while the victims suffer mentally and physically for the rest of their lives.

I have worked with young people who would quite happily know what was right and what was wrong...a few of them are now in prison for a very serious assault. They knew what they were doing and did it anyway. Yes, you can blame the parents to an extent but the attackers also deserve the blame for their actions.

I would imagine that it's only a matter of time before films such as Hostel are brought up here as the 'reason' the kids did this or as an 'influence.'

Perhaps they listened to Marilyn Manson? As I myself do from time to time.

Who knows - the bottom line is that there are some people who are unwilling to believe that some people are just evil, enjoy inflicting pain on others and should just be dealt with in a zero tolerance way.

Frankly, I don't care that they're kids. Send them to Afghanistan with a Union Flag suit on, a machine gun and watch it go...

That would be justice to me.

I don't think it was aimed at everyone on benefits. The reference was to lazy, no-hoping breeders with a diploma in crime. Not those on Disability Pensions.

:lol oh my god that is the funniest thing that I have heard in a while.: anyway, I don't wanna make this thread sound like a broken record, but that is sick. I believe that this is a combination of bad parenting and society. I hope they get more than just a "slap on the wrist".

This whole episode smacks of "life imitating art". This is portrayed chillingly in a recent film named "Eden Lake" which I am incapable of watching again since it infuriates me so much - being too close to the truth of certain sections of UK society to be "enjoyed" even as thought provoking entertainment.

While we may wish violent films to encapsulate realism in a boxed hermetically sealed environment, we find that spillage is all too common. "Eden Lake" makes the point that there is no "natural justice", basically, the kids get away with it and even if they don't, the damage is already done.

The medium term fix is based around a 5 year period, the long term fix is probably around 15-20 years. If society needs the quick fix then things look decidedly unpalatable to the so-called "civilised" society - even though the harsh action is required to deal with sub-humans like this.

UK society has been on a precipice for some time now and incidents like this - by no means unusual even if shocking - represent a cancerous acne spreading across our land. Such eruptions need to be lanced. It can only get worse unless radical affirmative action is taken.

Will anything get done? The simple answer is "No", not unless the vast majority of the population realises what is happening and stand up to be counted. Not unless the government give some dignity back to the country. Why should society toe the line on civil issues when we have government ministers claiming a few quid for expenses for pornography and thousands upon thousands for "primary homes" that they don't even live in. All this while we are being broken on the back of financial collapse.

My England? Not for the last 15 years a least... funny that it coincides with the New Labour regime. I could just be imagining that.

These boys are symptomatic of our society. They should be regarded with pity, never-the-less, the causes should be dealt with harshly. very harshly.

Sorry if I have offended you, I did not mention disability or incapacity benefits within the post. A lot of the population is rightfully claiming benefits for their current situation and I have no problem with that. I may have poorly stated "single mothers" however is something close to my own situation as I am surrounded by them and their ilk and have seen what they "Bring to the party" in term of ignorant, violent and aggressive offspring. They are not the main problem as there is massive amounts of families all screwing the system and blaming everyone for their problems but themselves. I am not a right wing tory I am just sick of this type of news and also the state this country as a whole is in.

Long time since i've read such an ignorant and prejudiced post I must say. There are many reasons why people live in one parent families. Have you thought about widows or fathers absconding? The woman stays loyal to the children and then gets persecuted for it. Ridiculous.

What the UK needs is better sex education in schools. Young women need to aspire to a life with more ambition and career choices. If children come into the world in a one parent situation then the State should step in MORE than it does now and offer greater support. At the same time the Dads should be MADE to pay as well.

Family life has been eroded through an unrelenting pressure on adults to make enough money to pay the bills. This fuels less family time with kids and divorce amongst the parents. We need less workinh hours and MORE generous pay from those capitalist scumbags.

Plus forgot to add that I came from a terrible area in Glasgow, was worse than a council estate however my parents worked two jobs each to give us a better life and I am now a business graduate with two homes in Edinburgh and manage a insurance firm in Scotland that gives cover to all of the Armed Forces in Scotland. Not bragging but you can do anything with the right attitude and support from your parents. I agree with the posts that the kids have to an extent been let down by their parents but at 11 years old I was playing with lego and fishing myself, I never attacked other kids for their money or slashed them with a knife. Think these little demons deserve a lifetime done the salt mines

Already apologised for slamming only single mothers should not have been so flippant in the OP. However again you are part of the problem when your solution is that wages should be more and you blame capitalism. What would you prefer instead of capitalism, perhaps communisim whereas they would be in working farms??? sounds good to me. And when you add a biased post well it suits me as that is my personal opinion and I am not alone. The current policies of the labour government are doing nothing but encourage sloth and crime whereas on the flip side of the coin driving skilled workers out of the country. It is all setting up a very bleak future for the UK.
