The credit for improved NZ - US relations belongs to the past Labour government and the Bush administration . Never the less it is good to see the
warming of the relationship continue . The NZDF small presence in Bamyan province probably allows it to specialize more then the other countries
military's who have a larger presence in Afghanistan. Cabinet would look at having the SAS make an additional deployment if the US was to ask for
additional assistance from New Zealand . Taking further measures to prevent the smuggling of Nuclear material is a sensible measure all round .
As for the Skyhawks they should be donated to a museum or sold to a collector . As I understand it in there present condition it is unlikely that the
Skyhawks will fly again . I am sure that Pacific Four Free Trade talks will resume after the Obama administration appeases it Blue Collar supporters
by conducting a so called review of all such agreements that are in the works .
