This idea came to me. A poetic analysis of the years since the War. This is my (probably usually pessimistic) take. Yours would, of course, be very welcome.
Seventy Years
Huddled masses,
escaped the gases,
of a tyrant's genocide.
Rock and roll,
took its toll,
and decency sighed.
"Make love, not war",
sang the whore,
as rights and duties chide.
Roe v Wade,
a rainbow parade,
a silent majority tried.
"Tear down this wall"
rang out the call,
a new world order spied.
President's zipper,
Prime Ministers hipper,
historys put aside.
Two towers crumble,
stupid called humble,
hope not bona fide.
Huddled masses,
breath in the gases,
of world suicide.
