ID cards 'could use chip and pin'

uk.news.yahoo.com

Officials are also looking at chip and pin as a possible way to help combat online fraud and help protect internet shoppers. It also emerged the Home Office has issued half as many ID cards for foreign nationals in the first four months than expected.

When the card was launched in late November ministers predicted that between 40,000 and 50,000 non-EU nationals would have cards by the end of last month. But by the end of last week 22,500 cards had been issued. Mr Hall said they had encountered “the odd wrinkle” in the system but overall it had worked “pretty well”.

A spokesman for the UK Border Agency (UKBA) said 42,000 foreign nationals had been through the enrolment process and had their biometric details taken.

The occult-world government & their minions has their minions claiming that they've been searching for chips and pins, which they may be able to use to help combat online-fraud & help protect people online.

Our common foes, have tried to cover-up the fact tat they've made plenty of these type of cards (with the help of Dell, Microsoft, IBM, and other government-controlled corporations) to force the rest of the general population to carry them. They want control of our transactions, our property, and the rest of our lives.

We are not their slaves. Fight back against tyrants & power-hungry bankers & their associates.

People should fight back. Unfortunately, too many people will succumb to these entities because they are dependent on them and are afraid to rock the boat.

Interesting...

I wonder if their was a book that warned us of such a thing...

Oh Yeah! - THE BIBLE!!

Seriously tho - you have to give cred - John called it first!

Methinks we should probably look for a mountain falling out of the sky - what modern astronomers might call - an asteroid...

Hmm...

What gets me is that they treat us all as potential criminals.

Instead of going after the criminals and punish them for their wrong deeds, they choose to punish society as a whole.

Why should I have give up my blood, pee, dna, or fingerprints if I did nothing wrong?

Go after the ones committing the fraud and crimes and punish them severely to deter others.

What is wrong with having an ID card?

Even the president here has one, and it's necessary to buy major things such as cars or real state properties.

The police can check your ID Number by radio and see if you are a criminal

It's kindof like your passport, and it is a good way to identify yourself in case you have an accident, and also to prevent frauds.

I support having an ID Card but I dont support having to carry it everytime you go out. Jeez, here you can go to jail if you are a MALE and you dont have your ID... wtf lol

Wow, that would be a huge change. If you would have to show proof of identification every time you purchased something.

This is getting drastically more interesting by the day with technological records and identifications.

Sometimes I believe it is a necessity in a way though in order for civilization to continue . The more technology the public has available to them and uses, law enforcement and government agencies must also keep up with the amount of technology to keep society in order.

When the microprocessor , personal computer, mobile phones and the internet came about, it changed everything....

I hope for the better rather than for the worse.

And to the OP, thank you for bringing this to the worlds attention. It is posters like you who unveil our eyes to just what government bodies are cooking up these days.

Because you've done nothing wrong and you have nothing to hide right?

The assumption that you're resisting because you have something to hide...

Like that Ron Paul supporter that was detained at the airport for having $4,500 cash. MSM picked up and that and should pick up on more of this treatment.

Going after real criminals is dangerous. Rambo Police are hard to find so the rest are delegated to Traffic Tickets but OMG not to traffic control; that's too low; that's punishment for being bad at writing traffic tickets. LOL

They can't be fired except for misbehaving.

I used to be against the idea of carrying a ID card, but now I've changed my mind to the extent where I'd like a chip in my head.

Smart cards could be made to work and be just as secure without being linked to your identity. It is already known how to do this. There is no reason for the card to act as a form of identification too.

This is only to track what you buy and where you go online. It serves no other purpose. It is not about security because a known method to do this without linking your ID to the card is already known. I can explain in detail if needed.

The next step is a law that would force every web host running a web site to force their users to register with this card before posting content like a message board comment or a YouTube vid. For example, if they keep going in this direction, one day there will be a law that if I want to post a comment on ATS I'll have to register with my NET ID card.

They'll start slowly with porn sites. You'll have to prove your age before you go to a porn site. Then you'll have to prove your age before you sign up to MySpace or Face Book. Next thing you know you'll have to register for everything on the net or the web host runs the risk of being shut down.

This means no online privacy. Everywhere you go the gov can track you and track what you say and do. It'd be like Christmas for privacy violators 365. If you see one of these card immediately destroy it and refuse to use it. Do not pay for one. Just tell em you ain't got no money and refuse any website that requires it and refuse to buy any products from a company that uses it on their site.

Like I said a way to do secure transactions with smart cards without giving up your identity to the net can be achieved. If anyone tells you they need to have your identity they are lying and spreading disinformation. The only thing they need is a valid shipping address AND THEY KNOW THAT. Linking your ID to the card is just to fulfill their own sexual fantasies so they can shut down dissent on the net at a future date.

You know talk that will cause me to have to raise the prices on the counterfit I.D. Cards or would rather have to pay a 40% black market premium for goods and services you don't want linked to your own account?

Tsk, tsk!

That's what will happen too if and when they implement this system. There will be a thriving black market of people looking to profit off of people who want or need to stay off the radar. There will be a less thriving market for those who can actually counterfit cards that work with the system.

I honetly think one of the biggest things to fear with such a system is it will likely lead to rationing of everything from food to fuel to entertainment as well as be able to track your physical movements.

I think when you get right down to it and really look at what is happening here and worldwide is the more oversight and distribution and security systems the technocrats implement the more exploitable holes are found in them that lead to fraud, criminality and other forms of unintended manipulation.

I think they would have better luck overall if they just gave up all the security and regulatory nonsense and put everyone on an honor system.

Just a thought.

Ο ΚΑΙΡΟΣ ΓΑΡ ΕΓΓΥΣ

Ο ΚΑΙΡΟΣ ΓΑΡ ΕΓΓΥΣ

Blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein __ for the time is at hand

Knowledge kind of suggests it's true and correct.

In the military there is something called bad intelligence.

I see the hand of evil greedy power hungry vain people in these things that are currently transpiring, not the preordained work of some diety.

In fact I think these people are so greedy, so evil, so power hungry they purposefully do things to mimmick Biblical scriptures, believing sadly, somewhat correctly too, that the devout and faithful will not challenge these things, not fight these things, but welcome these things as being the heralding of a new more glorious time post the trauma and suffering.

I think people who believe this were sold out since day one.

Duped, fooled, suckered. Seriously let's nuke Israel which would basically keep a huge portion of the end times prophecies from coming true and you will see that this human condition carries on unabated.

It just astounds me, first the World Body basically agrees to let Israel come back into existence, then the people all just say sure, give me a social security card that I in essence can't barter or trade without, and now we are rapidly moving towards a 100% personal electronic funds transfer society and all 1/3 of the planet has to say is Halelejua the end is allmost nigh?

What the heck ever happened to lets go out and win one for the Gipher?

If I ever find little Miss Bo Peep I am definately sending her to bed without supper!

Agree with you on some points, but you must understand, that its inevitable what the end result will hold for human beings. I perhaps sound gloomy, but in real life im a positive person, its just that one by one, everything is falling into place. That may be interpreted as Science or Religion, either way, its here and were all living through these times.

Many years agao, the mere mention of humans landing on the moon would put you or who ever in blazing fire. Then again we as a society did believe the earth was flat, then again we did believe that everything revolved around planet "Earth".

So in closing, we are just like children fighting over shovels and buckets in trying to build the biggest sand castle that our other class mates.

Look into our history and you WILL see our future.

Prevent fraud my A**e!

It's only in the last decade or so, as we have all been catalogued and added to countless databases, held by the government or private marketing companies, that ID theft has skyrocketed due to lax security standards. It is the technology and it's mismanagement of processes that puts us in danger of fraud.
Enforce data protection and outlaw all these private companies holding data on us all and we might see a change for the better - although I guess the Royal Mail might suffer due to a sharp drop in junk mail to be delivered.

Pin numbers for online purchases are the way to decrease "card not present" fraud and they are already being rolled out more and more. As for normal fraud, well i fail to see how this would be much more effective than using your passport as ID, there are many other problems with it as well. Biometric science isn't perfect, fingerprints can be damaged for example, your iris can change along with your retina due to certain medical conditions. Facial recognition is no where near perfect.

The worst part about this is that we're losing the age old cornerstone of our law, the innocent until proven guilty bit. Carrying this around is like assuming we're all up to no good. The old "nothing to hide, nothing to fear" argument has been debunked many times and is the wrong way to look at this.

I don't want to be treated like a criminal when i'm not one.
