I agree...I'd hate to lose any of those classic structures...

Sadly I fear we might hear of some damage later as it's accessed...

Oh...and as for Canada missing out on all the Eq fun...

Check this link out...seems Canada has it's own separate thingy for this...

Wow...

A very sad day...my thoughts are with your countrymen and familys.

I hope the "Big One" never appears...

Dozens dead, many hurt as big earthquake hits Italy

:snip:

Interior Minister Roberto Maroni visited the area and said the death toll had surpassed 50.

Luca Spoletini, a Civil Protection Department spokesman, said the quake may have made up to 50,000 people homeless. Some 26 cities and towns were seriously damaged.

In the small town of Onna alone, 10 people were killed, said a Reuters photographer who saw a mother and her infant daughter carried away in the same coffin.

Wow, combine this with Appollion's earlier post about the Tawainese research team's detector, and the combo could have saved lives and avoided injuries:

Not to contribute too much to the "WooWoo"-side of things but, wasn't there a prediction or prophesy of some sort saying that the second-to-last Pope of the Catholic church would be walking through a destroyed Rome?

That he would be stepping over the bodies of the dead, and would thus be forced to re-locate the seat of the Church elsewhere, just before the Apostasy that would give rise to the Last Pope in the time of the Anti-Christ?

Could that time be near?

Selfishly I hoped someone didn't bring this up.
It’s on the tip of most everyone's tongue here.
I’m just really for today wanting to bury my head in the sand.
But yes, that is the general consensus here... The *Big One* will hot - Rome will be in crumbles, etc...
