Obama Resumes Iran Threat Rhetoric

www.presstv.ir

President Barack Obama vows not to shelve the controversial US missile plans until an "Iranian missile threat" is eliminated.

Obama took a hard line against Iran's missile program on Sunday, ruling out recent media reports that Washington may reconsider a Bush-era bid to deploy a controversial missile shield in Eastern Europe.

"As long as the threat from Iran persists, we will go forward with the missile system," Obama said in a speech in Prague.

Cant ignore the timings of G-20 Aftermath - NATO 60yrs - NK Missile Launch - and Iran Missile Threat... How is that so - that all of this is happening exactly the same day?

"RRRR... Those Bankerrrs!"

Hoax news from "Obamas new attitude toward Iran" are all so pure propaganda - making background to future aggressive approach.

Missile Shield is only huge provocation to many sides of the issue, total waste of national resources and lots of money - benefitting weapon industrial complex - The corporation bankers.

Dont buy the BS - "Stop The War!"

Meet the new boss, same as the old...

Republicrat = Different sides of the same coin.

What hasn't Obama inherited from his predecessor? He's already kicking up a big stink about a failed N. Korean missile test and talking in hawkish tones regarding Pakistan's "lack of commitment" to the Afghanistan conflict and the cross border raids.

This guy is just let down after let down as time passes, but then again what do you expect from another run-of-the-mil puppet of the military-industrial complex.

Look, he's even inherited Bush's propensity to overrule his own advisors:

Earlier in the month, Democratic congresswoman Ellen Tauscher said talks of an "Iranian missile threat" had been grossly exaggerated in recent years.

"The argument that the US would be naked against an Iranian threat unless we deploy the GMD system in Europe is simply not right," said Tauscher -- a candidate for a top nonproliferation post in the Obama administration.

It's Bush in a different skin colour and some new shoes.

Good job Obama

Sometimes you have to laugh....

This seems a nice segue, convenient and keep the fear levels high

here's an article related to this topic, does the little snippet remind you of the same words used in the run up to the NK rocket launch?

Iran working to advance space program

...Iran has advanced a great deal in the field of missile and rocket technology. The Omid satellite orbited by the Safir booster will soon be followed by the Kaveshgyar (Explorer) rockets. The Western intelligence community has warned that Iran's successes in peaceful space exploration point to its expanded possibilities in the field of ballistic missiles...

Gotta keep people pointing fingers, while we are busy robbing them blind..

Yes, but what if Iran threatens our precious baby, the 51st State of Israel?

Oh good heavens! Those poor Israelis have no deterrent or defense against an Iranian Missile attack!

....Apart from 300 of their own Nuclear IRBM's.

Between this and the other thread going about the law in progress that could even make talk against Israel illegal, I wonder where we are heading.

I don't care if Iran has weapons of any kind. I believe that if we leave them alone, they will leave us alone. I think Israel can take care of themselves anyway, especially with all the money and toys we send them on a daily basis.

Don't we have enough on our table, right now?

What happened to direct talks with Iran with no conditions? Eh? Oh, yeah. Just another broken campaign promise. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Funny how quickly conditions can deteriorate when you don't pay attention to the news.

One minute Obama's preaching more of the "hope & change" mantra, and the next he's repeating tried and true Bush rhetoric, exaggerating the threat of this, that and the other.

He's like Jekyll & Hyde. Constantly flip-flopping between two polarised personalities.

What missile threat??? Even the US Secretary of Defense stated that not only does Iran not have any nuclear weapons, they are no where near close to being able to make them and will not be able to make weaponized nuclear material any time soon.

What are the real dangers of Nuclear weapons? Hmm, well lets see, North Korea, Pakistan, India and Israel are all nations with a significant number of nuclear weapons, who REFUSED to sign on to the Nuclear Non Proliferation treaty. They are the threats the world needs to respond to.

Under the Symington Amendment to the 1961 Foreign Appropriations Bill, the United States Government is banned from sending aid to any nation with nuclear weapons who has not signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Obama is well aware of the Israeli nuclear arsenal, yet he breaks the law by giving Billions to Israel despite the difficult economic times faced at home. When asked about Israels nuclear arsenal in a White House press meeting, he dodged the question. While Americans lose their homes and jobs, Israel gets YOUR hard earned cash. Pakistan also gets significant military and financial support from the US despite their disinterest in rooting out terrorists groups that use Pakistan as a safe haven. North Korea has proven that they are a wild bunch willing to risk it all with agressive military acts. India....Err.... India has Holy cows, and we better not piss them off because all of our customer support is located there. Besides, Slumdog Millionaires was a great movie.

Contact the Whitehouse and tell Obama to stop violating US law by sending YOUR tax dollars to these irresponsible nuclear nations.

Obama signed a bill recently allowing for stem cell funding, we would have never gotten that from Bush. He signed a bill that would make it easier for workers to get the pay they deserve regardless of their gender, you wouldn't get that from Bush. He signed a bill to increase the tax on the rich people, and cut taxes for the middle class, again you wouldn't get that from Bush.

Yeah and then he threatens Pakistan with further military action for not "pulling it's weight" in Afghanistan, threatens Iran, promises harsher sanctions for North Korea, accepts kickbacks from AIG, blocks desperately needed money to revitalise the auto industry and claims prosecuting the Bush Administration for warcrimes is not a big deal and that people need to "look forward".

Oh he's worlds apart from Bush.

The differences in my opinion are all superficial.
