President Barack Obama will call for the elimination of all nuclear weapons across the globe, in remarks on Sunday he hopes will lend credibility to his message in atomic disputes with Iran and North Korea.

Visiting Prague during an eight-day visit to Europe, Obama plans to deliver what his aides have billed as a major speech on weapons proliferation.

Obama, who is making his debut on the world stage, said in Strasbourg, France on Friday that he would lay out an agenda to secure the world

I actually agree with Obama on this.

I know some will say it's pie in the sky but why does man need these weapons? What dispute will be big enough to blow up the earth?

I think we should be enlightened enough to live in a world without nuclear weapons because all it takes is one madman to get control of a country with these weapons and game over.

It is all a dog and pony show IMO.

There is just too much distrust between countries that a nuclear free world to happen.

Even if there was a nuclear free world countries would try to work on weapons that are just as potent and dangerous as nuclear weapons.

Humanity is its own worst enemy.

Credit to Obama for pushing it because it does score him political points.

They probably just have a bigger badder bomb in the works.I dont see this going far at all anyway,its easy to make a statement and never follow it up,especially with the attention and memory of span of the celelebrity loving,american idol watching masses.

Obama will disarm America while I believe Russia and China pretend to disarm and will be thinking dumb American. obama over in Europe threw the U.S. under the bus and expressed in as many words how bad we are as a nation to Europe and the rest of the world.

Yes the U.S. was really bad when we came to Europe's aid to help win WW11. I believe obama was pandering to the crowd and the Europeans love him and I think he should move over there since we are such a bad country.

Guess which country with over 200 nuclear warheads he wont mention??? He was asked point blank about it in a Washington press corp meeting and he dodged the question. This same supposed "ally" of ours who refused to sign the Nuclear Non Proliferation treaty.

Obama is simply playing Politician, and has no intention of making this an even handed global effort. He wont even uphold US laws, the 1976 Symington Amendment , about nations that refuse to sign the Nuclear Non Proliferation treaty.

Remember the majority of the American people voted for change and many thought he would not move as quickly to make the extreme changes as he has today. Do not be so sure that the USA will not be disarming quickly. We The People are not always sure of obamas ulterior motives when it comes to what he says verses what he does.

the number priorty of the office of presient of the united states is to protect and defend its people-not just his term or terms but for future generations.

common sense also tells us that even if countries say the give nukes up all wont do it unless its the stupid inept obama presidency.

north korea and iran wont give them up north korea already has nukes but no delievry system so we are told-bet they do.

Folks please understand that not only is obama intentionally wanting to disarm the U.S. from having nukes in our arsenal he has given away our sovereignty to Europe and to the rest of the world. It is very evident that The Constitution Of The United States Of America to obama is just a piece of paper.

Watch for this majority democratic administration to start a full court press to disarm the citizens after obama comes back from Europe. Are the Fema labor camps being prepared? I am getting an erie feeling that evil beyond comprehension is being unleashed upon our One Nation Under God. I pray to the Almighty Creator that We The People will be protected from this evil force.

I'm surprised that there is any question of Obama’s intentions; just like any other Ivy League pseudo intellectual he envisions the United States “leading the way” by dropping our collective drawers as we destroy all our weapons FIRST while singing “we are the world” with dreams of bringing world peace through our example and having the world love us so. That is until Israel takes out Iranian nuke capabilities, Russia and Iran attack Israel and most likely the USA, and China decides to collect on our debt by repossessing the West Coast with maybe throwing Alaska to Russia.

Then our fearless leader, the weight of the oval office and the great men who have gone before, will make the hard choice, with his red cape blowing in the wind, he will move to lead his people to victory… by filing a complaint in the United Nations Security Council while agreeing that it is probably America’s fault for having been too aggressive in the past, and ‘by the way can’t we all just get along’? Ah, his strong posturing over seas at the G20 just made me feel SO secure and happy over how LOVED we are now by European Socialist! What a European, opps! My bad! American President he is!

No Nuclear weapons?
Wont ever happen, not in a single day in the rest of the earths days.

Nuclear weapons are a part of mankind.
Weve had them for 60'something years, and havent used them once since they were created. We must understand nuclear weapons do infact keep the status quo!
