I heard a radio ad re: "poopsenders" the other night... thought I might look more into it... gotta be concerned aout payment records though...

If it were entirely anonymous, but I'm not sure if it is guaranteed.

And how could one recover, but the cost of delivery... would not erase the felony from my record, if convicted.

Novel idea, but not recommended for use to the government?

No, but this thread needed some mirth.

Companies like this one probably won't exist after being used on TPTB.

. Teabags my arse, we need to get down to their offices ourselves, IN PERSON, with buckets of tar and Feathers. Our founding fathers warned us who we would be ruled by if we allowed it, they also told us how to stop it as well as give us examples by their actions...

So while you send your tea bags or tea tags or manure or whatever other SAFE protest you have remember this. Your safe protest to government infringements, spending and tyranny TODAY ensures the enslavement of our children TOMORROW...

Sleep on that.

Talk is cheap, friend. I write my reps, support my candidates and share info on important issues to a few caring souls. I am the soul breadwinner here. I can't afford jail time. Free feel to do whatever you think is best. If you want to go try and tar and feather your reps that's your business. Hope you can afford bail and have a good attorney.

Don't forget your soap on a rope.

What did your Congressman say to your letter? Did you even write them? Oh, maybe you would just rather blast me for my measly efforts.

Dear Mrs. XXXXXX:
Thank you for contacting me about my position on taxes. Taxes impact the lives of all Americans, and I am doing all I can make the system simple, efficient, and fair. I believe that we need to simplify and reduce taxes in a responsible way. Our working families deserve a break at a time when wages are stagnating, health care costs are skyrocketing, and jobs are being moved overseas. It is a matter of common sense and simple fairness. As your Senator, I am working hard to bring middle class families tax relief. One of the first bills I co-sponsored after coming to Washington was S. 614, the Middle Class Opportunity Act. This bill would have increased the child tax credit, consolidated and boosted tax credits for higher education, expanded eligibility for credits for families caring for older relatives, and extended relief from the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT). Unfortunately, the bill was not taken up by the full Senate before the 110th Congress expired in December 2008. However, I believe that we cannot continue to manage the budget in the same reckless way as we have for the past several years. The last year we had a budget surplus was 2001. Since then the federal government has run record deficits that have beholden us to foreign creditors and are jeopardizing our children’s future. We owe roughly $1 trillion to China alone. And for what have we run these deficits? To pay for tax cuts for the wealthiest among us. Over half of President Bush's tax cuts went to the richest ten percent of the population, the very portion that thrived the most during his administration. It is unfair and irresponsible to endanger the fiscal health of the nation for the benefit of a privileged few, and I do not support tax polices that do so. I am proud that the budget resolution Congress passed last year will balance the budget by 2012 without increasing taxes. While it is not perfect, I believe it is a good first step toward reestablishing fiscal discipline and putting working people first. I will continue to fight for fairness in future tax debates. Thank you again for contacting me. I hope you will continue to reach out with your thoughts and advice. All best, Senator Claire McCaskill

"Sleep on that. "???

Maybe you should change your mood from righteous indig to self-righteous indignation.

Have a nice day.

Laughter is the best medicine, I agree.

I will be checking into the Co., as there are some that need the contribution...

Thanks for reminding me, sometimes the memory is a little...what were we talking about?

They know what it represents...and if they don't then they shouldn't be in office.

The government is so detached from the country and its values that it has forgotten who it is and who it really works for.

It's not like powder was mailed...It was in a tea bag...Its not like she was going to smear it all over her face.

Just goes to show you how crooked the corrupt are...Even when guilty they punish the innocent.

I kinda understand the panick of these government Goons. I distinctly remember the anthrax mail problems and one innocent person in my state, a kindly old lady, died from this. I can completely understand why they think they are targets...ITS BECAUSE THEY ARE TARGETS! If they where doing their jobs instead of trying to bankrupt us and make us slaves to their 'infinate power' they might be liked instead of reviled!!! They should and need to be completely afraid of us. I want them so scared they piss their undies at the thought of ignoring us!!

I agree. They are going to get more and more paranoid as the economy goes downhill. Some of the people who "lose it" are going to be losing it on them. I would be concerned about some Rambo-type shooters going after the people who are the source of their misery. Ex-bosses and politicians would be at the top of the list.

I spoke with Mrs. Yannetti this week. She said that although no formal charges had been filed, they were "waiting for the other shoe to drop".

Carol Shea-Porter is losing favorability in NH. She will hopefully be voted out of office in her next election.

Sorry for being late to this topic. Fascinating and could have been titled "man arrested for tea bagging congresswoman". One, two, three... (That's me counting) And what is so bad about that when so many constituents have been coerced into drinking the Kool Aid? But I digress...

She needs to be sent a pile of bull droppings for this. If it's a tea bag, then it's a gift and it's not an illegal act to send a tea bag as a gift. I hope the prosecutor gets laughed out of court and branded an a_hole.

So I am still on page one and I see this.

I was afraid this would happen, that is why I didn't do it, there must be an alternative,

Although she most likely just wanted to be a bitch,

Then this

Note: Do not send teabag.

Clip the string at the bag, send the paper tag, with string attached. NOT the BAG, but the TAG.

They will get the message...

I refuse to be afraid to participate in a known act of protest. This evacuation is completely staged. nothing gets past the screeners and it hasn't since the anthrax scare. This is simply a tightening of the police state. Anyone who remembers, should recall (or research) that this very type of retaliation against dissent is what we would have expected from the United Soviet Socialist Republic! oh, wait.

Socialism has it's, debatable, benefits but the vast expansion of government will inevitably result in a police state. If you do not like the increasingly reactionary scare tactic responces that we are seeing lately, then I suggest you buckle up.

If we continue this path I will guarantee you that in our lifetime we will be afraid to even send a letter at all. 10 years ago these things that we see today were unheard of, and would only have been described as something that happens in Russia. A comparison today and our two countries freedoms are really very similar. I wonder who is becoming more like who.

By the way, I live a quarter block from a gas station and before I posted this I got a box of crap gas station teabags and have my contibution waiting in my mailbox for pickup tommorrow.

I'm with you. I will not be subdued by fear of false prosecution, for I have done nothing wrong.

Two words about this.

The government just stirred up a huge hornets nest by over-reacting to this protest.

Big Mistake.

I heard somewhere that US mail was not delivering many tea bags ? i dont know how true this is but maybe another solution would be to send photos of teabags ? or something along those lines anyway.

I am completely suprised that this happened, not that it happened, but that it happened in New Hampshire?? Isn't that the "Live Free or Die!" state?

This congresswoman is obviously grossly out of touch with her constituency to be taking issue with tea mailed to her, be it Earl Grey, Green, White, whatever... Be it bagged, loose, or just a tag and string!

For that matter, why are people all over the country mailing tea to state reps and senators?

Because we're really fed up. We the People are pi55ed, and we want our representatives to do something, or step aside and let somebody who can take a shot at it.

The people should not fear the government, the government should fear the people.

I guess this NH congresswoman took that famous quote too literally?

Maybe it's time we start sending copies of the Constitution to our representatives?

Perhaps their familiarity with our sacred founding document, which all our laws should be based on, should be tested before they are able to serve us. This is their JOB!

My take is, We the People are these people's BOSS. Most companies are downsizing and restructuring for better economy these days.

Perhaps We, the People should downsize and restructure our bloated and virulent Federalist government.

I am not particularly sympathetic to the tea party protesters' cause, but this was a completely idiotic overreaction.

This poor guy did nothing but mail a bag of tea!

Ooooohh, scary

It's tea not freaking anthrax

I just sent an e-mail to Rep. Shea Porter. I will try to remember it as best as possible and perhaps some others could email her as well. There is a link to her site at the bottom of the story in the OP's original link.

Here is a paraphrase of what I wrote her:

Dear honorable Mrs. Shea-Porter, (I hate addressing a dishonorable person as honorable; however, it is protocol)

I am writing you to inform you of my disgust with your actions concerning the gentleman whom sent you a teabag. You may try to spin this in any fashion you like; however, I as well as many of your district's voters understand that what you did to this man was simply try to make a statement. The sad part is that you involved emergency responders in this sham which could have caused someone to die because of a lack of emergency care.

You may very well be the most un-American person I have ever run across in this great Nation. Your actions indicate that if you were alive during the original Boston Tea Party, that you would have turned the participants in to the British.

I would like to ask that you have the charges dropped against this man and make a public apology to him for making this patriotic act look like an act of terrorism. I am hopeful that you will take this opportunity to take the appropriate actions before one of the nations watchdogs take advantage of this situation and give you more negative publicity than you care to have.

I think if everyone wrote this woman and every elected official whom acts in this manner then they might begin to understand that the people are paying attention now and we are not going to allow this type of behavior any longer.

A nationally syndicated Libertarian radio host insisted that people keep their tea at home and mail in their voter registration cards which should show your congressman or woman that in upcoming elections you and fellow countrymen will vote for somebody else.

If it is at all possible for us to unite before its too late we could lean 3rd or 4th party in 2010-2012. This must be done in a massive switch though no hanging on to the old seasaw lets go gusto people!

First I have to say I am surprised they actually even open constituent mail anymore.

My emails to my Senators and Congresswoman get scanned for key words and then generate a form letter reply, most often telling me how glad that they are I am in favor of what I wrote about not being in favor of, since they are in favor or what I am not in favor of.

I bet the real brew-ha-ha here, pardon the pun, is that some automated letter opening machine attached to some scanner that scans her letters for key words to auto generate form replies got all clogged up with the tea bag.

Some poor staffer probably had to call a repairman, who had the unlucky job of telling some other poor staffer that, no, it’s not a warranty repair, and yes I am aware that there is no warning label saying please do not insert teabags but you still have to pay for the repair.

Some other poor staffer had to cut a check request to get the Congresswoman to sign, who said…hey we just got that machine 6 months ago isn’t it under warranty? …What!
A what? Darn I am going to have to take this repair money out of my Postal Account now; there goes my weekend to Bermuda! Get me Homeland Security on the phone…

The rest is history.
