2 Morris County men face charges in UFO hoax

Two young men who admitted to creating a UFO hoax earlier this year will be charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor that typically carries a fine but no jail time, Morris County law enforcement officials announced Thursday night.

i had posted earlier in the year about the sightings that these 2 guys caused. i had no idea that this had happened until a coworker told me about it. he had seemed genuinely perplexed by it and also told me about a good amount of bystanders on the street that had stopped.

it seems these guys think they were doing everyone a favor by alerting everyone how easy it is to create "ufo like lights in the sky". the had posted this info on a skeptic website which is odd to me because it seems like they would preaching to the choir. the videos are really incriminating.

Why? Did they want to teach them a lesson?

This was pure mischief. There was no constructive purpose.

It's one thing to prove that people want to believe.

It's another thing entire to set out to fool them for your own entertainment.

It's a darn good thing that these 'incendiary' devices didn't hurt anyone.

They got lucky.
