New Concerns Over Chinese 'Carrier-Killer'

U.S. Naval Institute

With tensions already rising due to the Chinese navy becoming more aggressive in asserting its territorial claims in the South China Sea, the U.S. Navy seems to have yet another reason to be deeply concerned.

After years of conjecture, details have begun to emerge of a "kill weapon" developed by the Chinese to target and destroy U.S. aircraft carriers.

This is an interesting article that suggests the United States Navy may actually be in a state of panic regarding the ability of this new Chinese ship to ship ballistic missile system.

Conventional Naval and Tactical wisdom is that there are no effective counter measures to defend against a state of the art ballistic missile on a large naval target.

With the projection of U.S. Fighter Jet supremacy in far flung theatres of operation left in doubt because of the vulnerability of their Carrier platforms to such an attack, wrestling with an emerging and increasingly aggressive China may very well be keeping U.S. Navy planners and strategists up late at night.

It now appears a technology shift might be accompanying the economic shift in West versus East.

scrap ships and use unmanded planes.. oh wait the usa are doing that and scrapping there ships

I wouldnt worry about china to much, the amount the usa spends on defence = more than the entire planet Including china

little ships dont make much of a difference when they go to war ,, it going to be about NUKES

posture is a joke
oh and a good way to waste money on toys!!

It's true it is for the most part a dog and pony show to keep the masses entertained and routing for one side versus the other, to create an economic, wealth and political agenda in the process.

I for one though would rather see them acting out their little games with conventional weapons instead of nuclear weapons.

Nobody wins in a nuclear winter except those safely under ground with enough food and water to weather it.

Troubling days ahead my friend. Thanks for the post.
