Video: Hundreds of Iowans thrown out of public tax hearing

rawstory.com

Over 500 Iowans were thrown out of a public tax hearing in Iowa's State House on Tuesday. Lawmakers ordered the room cleared after they were interrupted several times.

"This is the most atrocious thing I've seen in the history of the 15 years I've been a lobbyist. Pat Murphy has acted like a jack-booted Nazi," said Ed Failor Jr., president of Iowans for Tax Relief, a conservative taxpayers' rights group from Muscatine with 50,000 members.

One angry Iowa woman is heard yelling out 'Socialism!' as she is escorted away from the room by state police officers.

This is interesting ... i'm thinking we will most likely be seeing more of this around the country .... i'm not really sure as to what to say about it ... kind of surprised that the lady yelled out socialism ... correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't this more along the lines of fascism?

WOW!
It's politicians like that speaker that have God complex that are taking our rights and liberties. The Iowa taxpayers own that building, they pay the salary of that buffoon that ordered the hall cleared. Yet the hearings on the taxes will continue without input from the taxpayers. As a side note that remark about "democrats want to lower the state tax rate to make up the difference to actually lower the taxes paid by the middle and lower income classes". BS. pure and simple, if they lower their state tax rate to make up the difference of allowing the federal exemption then they don't gain any new revenue. The math doesn't seem to work. Liars, all of them from our local city halls to the POTUS and everything inbetween. Sickening.

Who knows, maybe the Revolution could potentially be ignited in the Heartland of America. This is interesting considering these are supposed to be legislators working for the interest of me and my fellow Iowans. They seem to be failing at it with actions like this.
Is there even any real authority on the part of the House Speaker to order State Troopers in to remove people from there? I'm pretty sure that it's supposed to be the authority of the governor since the State Troopers answer directly to him.

you and the poster above you both bring up good points ... i don't understand how they had the authority to order the people out of the meeting .... the taxpayers pay for all of the stuff even the meeting ... and i don't get the ordering in of the state troopers either
