FBI Agents look for missing tanker truck and counterterrorism officials said it was stolen in Pennsauken this month.

The tanker was stolen from a Camden County parking lot in New Jersey.

They don't know what the motive was behind the theft said an FBI spokesperson. "It could have been stolen by another individual in the fuel-hauling business.

"But we feel it's important to find it, find out who took it, and find out why it was taken."

The tanker which was chrome plated and can hold over 9,000 gallons, was empty when stolen from the TK Transport Terminal in Pennsauken between April 8 and April 12, Pennsauken Police said and it wasn't noticed missing for three days!

The tanker, with "TK Transport" in large green letters along its sides, was made in 1996 by Fruehauf and recently refurbished, It bore New Jersey licence plate T852SC.

A notice about the stolen tanker was sent to all law enforcement agencies in the state of New Jersey. It is known that Since 9/11, al-Qaeda has wanted to use those and Al-Qaeda has expressed an interest in a variety of targets around the world, and they've mentioned gas tankers before such as using them as bombs.

In May 2002, a remote-control device was used to explode a tanker truck in Israel's largest fuel depot.

"No matter who's hands this tanker is in it could spell DISASTER! "I just hope they find it before it becomes a mobile bomb!"

With fuel prices as high as they are right now, it's no wonder. Probably some soccer mom who needed to fill her humvie, but couldn't afford it. Wait until she gets it home and finds out it's empty.

Well it doesn't hold 9000 gallons that would place it way overweight and illegal. Most transport tankers hold 5000 gallons. #2 It was empty so terrorists would have to fill it and that would be very, very, close to immpossible

Now if they have a couple of tons or more of plastique or dynamite in excess of that weight it would be one hell of a mobile bomb, shrapnel and all.
More than likely some hillbilly stole it painted it black and is using it as a water truck on some dirt road. And trucks are the easiest vehicle in the world to steal

Jittery officials now on hunt for three missing fuel tankers

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. Federal authorities said Wednesday they have no new information on a gasoline tanker truck that has been missing since mid-April.
We still have no news. Were continuing to investigate, said Jerri Williams, spokeswoman for the FBI in Philadelphia. Williams said information on the tanker truck was sent to FBI headquarters in Washington when it was discovered missing.

The refurbished 1996 Pennsauken truck, with TK Transport in large green letters on its side and no liquid in its chrome-plated tank, was last seen April 8, according to Pennsauken police.

It was a few days before workers at the TK Transport Terminal noticed it was gone.
