I believe that the tobacco tax hike is illegal and unamerican. I was rolling my cigarettes, before all this tobacco tax crud got started by so call socialists in american politics. I believe it all to be part of a final 9-11 style attack on america by those who hold grudges and take them out on joe the public. I was paying around $2.00 a pouch and now today, told several store owners to get ******* because im not paying the $8.00+ they wanted for less than one ounce of tobacco, illegal drugs cost less than tobacco now. It is sick what these lying scumbag sicko politicians are trying to do, they are not americans, i call for their immediate arrest for tyranny via taxation without representation. ANd I move we radify that all laws preventing this action, be dismissed as unjust as well. ARREST THE TRAITORS>

We had a revolution, and chanted no taxation with out representation. Which means we need to know what the tax is paying for.

So now they put tax on tobacco and tell us it is for health care for children.

I see the point in being over taxed, but the tax is legal and there is nothing you can do about it if you want to continue to purchase tobacco in America.

An alternative is to either quit or switch to an un-taxed nicotine substitute such as electronic cigarettes. That is what I did.

[snip]

I dont care -to me then you are a socialist, the tax is illegal because the congress and president and military and house, are sellout liars using the people as assets, not people, the health care system is a fraud like your beloved government system of treasonous liars, you are on my enemy list.. Gratz. PS go back to stalinist russia for me, you and people like you who tell people to get over things are generally not americans.

I forgot about the electric cigarette!!!

If your still here, what is your personal opinion on it, and does it come in menthol. If not, i'll still consider it.

We can b---- and moan about this all we want, but it's not going to do any good, but let you get the rant off your chest. Which is very therapeutic all in all.

I really thought this Obama guy, well I voted McCain, but I thought although he lost, things might actually get better, If it was up to me, i'd of gone and voted for Bush again, or even Jed.

I look at the news these days, and i'm completely baffled, nothing makes sense anymore, 4 million children get funded health care. Okay, but smokers must pay for it, and well there is not even smokers around to pay for it, it's destined to fail. So what the hell!

spoken like a guy who is about to quit smoking. Look sport, you can vent your anger, it's ok, but please be nice. Quitting sucks worse than a sharp stick in the eye, but it can be done. You want to get back at them, don't pay their silly tax. Don't buy any more. But Rob isn't your enemy. And I heard he doesn't even like big *****'s. Take a deep breath and think of a happy place.

George Washington, if still alive, would have put a bullet in the heads of everyone in the damn government if they tried to tax him. Only slaves pay taxes.

My question of the day IS..... what 4 million children will recieve this free healthcare ?
Sons and daughters of hard working middle-class, of legal status ??

Even if it did not go to illegals, would it go to the inner city children? Sons and daughters of those hard working individuals who wake up early even after drinking 40's and shootin up the hood' all night, to go stand in line at the welfare agency claiming they can't get jobs ??

and no I am not suggesting ONE race. Every race has it's undesirables.

The amount of this increase is totally ridiculous. I would'nt mind though to know that from a small increase in cigarette tax goes to funding healthcare for someone like my neighbor Reggie's son. (Both by the way are of hispanic decent and are here legally). Reggie works at Target from 3 AM to 12 AM and then goes and busses tables at night.

Reggie doesn't drink or do drugs. He does though enjoy taking that long drag off a Marlboro when he gets home exhausted.

Too bad he won't be able to enjoy that anymore......

All i see is a country filled with corporate masonry logo, i see people in those corporations treat there employees like cattle and slaves, I see freemasonics at the top enjoying such benefits, mocking the ones below in decadent wealth. What am I supposed to see about masonry thats different or good? I cant from this perspective.

Albert Pike stating Lucifarianism is the key to masonry was all I needed to know about the order. I dont care what name I coin to term the happenings, im saying that people are dimented, they join monolithic structures because they think that it will offer some justification or power behind such dellusions.

Its easy for you to mock me as you guys like to play two sides of a coin, yet deep down im sure you know im right. Secrets are the devil. And this country is steeped in them. And its my belief that such haughty elitism is retarded and oing to bring you all to ruin, because at the top, they are winey beasts who when they dont get there way, they ruin lives. As is exampled by the last 10-20 years events even more.

Socialism is where the government decides things for you and assumes your too dumb to do it for yourself, hitler had a socialist government up until he went full on looser.
Communism is a workers paradise. Sadly the elite always worm there way back up a social chain of there own imagined greatness ruining lives in the process.

I argue that we dont need secrets, or society, we eneed wisdom and reason and shared positive technology. Meaning a spiritually positive direction, melded with advanced technology for health, travel and sustanance.

Where are the former powerful tobacco lobbyists who were able to suppress the results of research into how addictive and unhealthy their products were? They have abandoned their American consumers to sell their poisonous products to third world countries. Nice.

My father passed away from colon cancer a while back. He was a heavy smoker until his mid forties. Lung cancer is not the only cancer that tobacco products can cause. I do not have much sympathy for the tobacco industry for getting so many of us Americans addicted to their poisons. They are just as bad as the crack dealer, except the tobacco companies poison is legal.

its not that i dont empathise with oyur loss, i can. But whats to say i will suffer. There arer people who smoke until 100, work 2 jobs and just stay moving and breathing. Its all about technique. Not generalisation. Besides its sick that in a country where on paper in declarative form, we are allowed to grow anything, unregulated by government for food or medicine but are oppressed by unjust statist policy humpers from doing so with anything elese as well, tobacco can be an expectorant of phlem, did you know that? Native American used it as such.

I should add that my father was a heavy smoker for a while. He generally smoked two packs a day, but in his heyday, he smoked four packs a day. My mother was also a heavy smoker and quit 25 years ago. She is in good health.

I agree it affects people differently, but why take such a risk? My grandfather had emphysema so bad he could barely take a few steps without gasping for breath. My neighbor was on an oxygen tank, and could barely walk. He would always tell the younger kids to never smoke.

The giant tobacco industry and lobby held this country in a choke hold for quite a while. Now, they are selling it to third world countries.

You may want to get an appointment with a pulmonologist to check your lung capacity and for other breathing problems. They can detect things early, before they lead to major problems later in life.

Some places have can afford to eat the tax hike because they sell their smokes far above what they pay for them. If they sell huge volumes, they get very large deals. Cigarette sales are the bread and butter for many of those liquor and other convenient type stores. Reservations do not have to pay federal taxes, although I think it varies on the state whether or not they have to pay state taxes. I would think they are exempt from state taxes, but I could be wrong.
