REYNOSA, Mexico – Acting on a tip, 30 masked soldiers in combat gear bust down the door of a boarded-up house to find 55 terrified migrants, hostages of the Gulf drug cartel.

Amid screams and the smell of urine and sweat, they find a blood-spattered room and a nail-encrusted log used to beat the captives and extort money from their families: $3,000 each.

Five suspected kidnappers are hauled off in a military truck, including the alleged leader — the son of a local police officer.

Well, this article for a start pretty well summarizes what the crap is like down in Mexico. Kind of interesting seeing how serious some of this is when compared to things here up north in the States, Canada and even Europe. It really shines a light on some of the crap committed by the cartels.
As the article states the Mexican Army is pretty much the last hope for the Mexican people in dealing with the cartels.

In the Reynosa raid, the soldiers free nine women held in the living room in their underwear and 46 men crammed into two small bedrooms — some for up to a month — with little food and water. The torture room has a mattress on the floor and blood and posters of half-naked women on the walls. A handgun sits on a corner table.

The US really needs to step up and aid Mexico militarily with their war on the cartels. Their war is our war, were the ones paying the price as a country addicted to drugs.

Just one more step towards the north American union

You think the demand for drugs will automagically go away by taking out Mexican cartels? So long as there's demand, new suppliers will arise faster than anyone could imagine to capitalize on the opportunity.

End the drug war ffs.

Won't eliminate it completely but it will sure as hell put a big dent in the trade. Small-time unorganized groups aren't buying million dollar submarines to smuggle drugs in.

There's a reason these cartels are referred to as "narco-terrorists", as Colombian FARC commander Jorge Briceno Suarez, also known as Mono Jojoy, says, "trading with US drug importers is 'exporting suicide.'"

This isn't about ending the importation of drugs into the US, it's about ending a criminal organization that has grown too powerful, too murderous, and poses a serious risk to our borders.

As long as the drugs are illegal we will have a problem. Need to educate and offer a better life for our race.... but no matter what there is allways going to be people that can not control their body or like to feel good or escape reality. We have lots of work to do ....but guns are not the answer for drugs...just out of control mean power hungry people who meet in secret.

If the government would just legalize drugs, there would be no drug cartels!

Decriminalization of all drugs is the best thing we could do for this country right now.

If you think they are just going to say "Oh hey drugs are legal now, lets go legit" then you are VERY out of touch with reality. They will just move on to some other criminal enterprise ... like smuggling illegal immigrants or cigarettes and the whole mess starts up again. Legalizing marijuana will only do so much because it's not just marijuana, we also have meth, coc aine, heroin, extacy, etc being illegally smuggled into the US.

All I am going to say is that dead people can't commit crimes.

Legalizing Cannabis would bring down the over all drug use of harder drugs , alcohol , tobacco too and prescription meds also.
