Yup those were taken aboard the ex USS Kitty Hawk. The first picture was taken during Wog Day and I was "Motivating" some of the slimy critters. The second picture was taken out on Sponson 6, it was a great place to catch the Sunrise and socialize.

You were in the Navy or Marines? I'm having trouble picturing the Marines on ships since I always see them on the battle field.

Here's a picture from inside the Pipe Shop, I think we were transiting the Straits of Hormuz since we had our gas masks with us.

I was in the Navy, Marines used to be stationed aboard Carriers but were phased out in 1997 or 1998. They do still go to Sea but I'm glad I was never stationed on a Gator Freighter.

It was definitely an experience, I do have regrets now about whoring myself for the government which is one of the reasons why I'm on this site. Here's a short video from my last ship the USS O'Kane DDG-77

On the smaller ships you can REALLY feel them move, I went from Carriers to Destroyers and it was definitely an adjustment. When you're near the bow and it plummets you almost feel weightless, it was fun when you got used to it but since I wasn't warned I thought I was going to fly into the overhead

Yes I am one of those home grown super heroes, like I have a motorbike and GPS and everything.


another edit, I rescued a cat a little bit the other day, tangled in orange string in a hedge. I even took the string home and threw it away, see I really am a nice guy and it was very handy I had a little knife too - don't let the police know of course.


edit, I have a history of cruelty to cats, most days I only feed mine twice - thank god she can't use the phone... No one will ever know.
