I want to point something out, although I'm sure it's obvious that I think they were dead wrong.

It was discovered on the hale-bopp comet the most complicated molecule discovered on an extra-terrestrial body before -- anti-freeze. Do a search for a thread by me on hale-bopp for the site. I just found it interesting that the comet a bunch of people decided to kill themselves over turned out to be a comet where a major scientific discovery was made.
