What exactly is scary about that? That is just plain common sense. Would it seem better had it been "Start no war unless you plan on losing it?"

The statement itself is not a pro-war statement, just saying you cant get into a fight that you aren't going to put you best effort towards.

My bet is that they have already found it. Hell, they know where it was.

As far as this thing being better (internet) no way, dude.
Do a google search on... well, anything of curiosity. Then wade through the 1,000 pages of bullsnap to find the one gem of truth you seek.

The great thing about a library like alexandria's is that everything within that building is the literal life-work, if not the life's work following the life's work of another, just to make it there.

The internet is awesome, but it is untrustworthy.

I agree there Jay-in-AR my friend. The internet does contain a lot of distorted and overly simplified information.

Too bad we don't have a time machine and could just travel right back not just to the Library, but to sit in the Colleseums and Forums, Temples and markets, battlefields too see it all and meet all those remarkable people ourselves?

It's almost a shame the world got so big, so overcrowded, so fast.

I bet there were more than a few words and thoughts about that stored at the Library of Alexandria too?

Thanks Jay-in-AR

"Keep you friends close, keep your enemies closer."

And that my friends, is why he's being invited to the White House.

This guy is only being used to give Obama some good publicity.

"Once this guy finishes talking to Obama he will be escorted out with a few souvenirs and memories, but will see NO CHANGE in our government. Business as usual. "

Could it be that Obama is scared????

That guys video was good, but there is another one creating a buzz. So much so, that many have left comments saying the guy's/girl's video is being heavily manipulated by YouTube in terms of view statistics/comments. I have to say, I like it more than most of these 'Fight for Freedom' videos. Check it out below:

New World Rebels? Count me in.

The President of the United States has no power to summon a private citizen to his presence at the White House, he is not royalty.

He can invite someone to a meeting or dinner, but they can decline the offer.
He can order any member of his military to attend because he is the Commander In Chief.
He can request any employee of government to attend because he's their boss.
Through legal action a summons can be issued to anyone that they appear in a court, before Congress or the House of Representatives, but not directly to the President.
A private citizen can be served a subpoena to give evidence before a Presidential Committee or evidence hearing.

I'm probably just picking nits here, but Obama is not the Queen.
A "Command Performance" is not an option he has.

You could never get me to the White House under those circumstances. If I were even allowed to leave, it would be under a threat...or...likely I'd be charged with assault for spitting in the face of the puppet-in-charge.

The idea that anyone high up in government would entertain changing their power and money hungry apatite to appease us lowly, internet, scum, live-stock is laughable. They are too committed to owning us and the country...or...if that isn't possible, tearing it down like vultures, feeding upon it's corpse.

You know...maybe by taking every dollar there is (and many there aren't) and giving it to bankers...pretending that they believed it would be spent wisely...then the second time around believing it would be spent wisely, but act pissed that it wasn't. You know...save the really pissed reaction for that last "stimulus" when all the money is gone...just to save face.

We are nothing by cattle in their eyes...live-stock worthy of being feed, and little else, until our corpses can be used (or taxed) for something.

Not that I'm bitter or anything.

Mr. Obama recognizes this guy's talents of persuasion and is going to try and use him to his advantage. I would not doubt that Mr. Obama also reacts positively to some (but surely not all) of what this man talks (more like rants) about on his videos. He will assuage him to keep his rants on topics Obama agrees with, but to keep on ranting.
Mr. Obama is self assured and believes he can tap this guy like a new resource. More stifled guys in that office wouldn't have the balls to even try.

To Bob Basso, thank you for your Patriotism and do not meet with obama under any circumstances. Do not bow down to this want a be dictator that stands for mostly what our forefathers were totally against including obama at will circumventing The Constitution Of The United States Of America.

I would think that only way BHO will be able to use this guy would be by examining his agenda, going before God in search of wisdom, courage in exchange for repentance....after which he would redirect his administrations agenda toward one of fairness for those who work for a living as well as those that are infirmed....Get the lazy, scheming theives off our backs and let the good nature of the american people care for the poor privately....Whats the chance of thaty happening??

YouTube star summoned to White House?

After he is summoned to the White House, I fear he will be replaced by a look alike and his videos will all of a sudden take a change of heart. This is just a feeling though.

On the other hand, seriously, for the president to actually invite him over for a "Cup of Tea" and a chat, it sends a message that the administration is in favor of discussing miscommunications to attempt to solve problems.

Obama probably heard only two parts of the videos by Basso

Mandatory national service (10th amendment?)
Removing electoral college(Article 2?)

Anything that goes against the constitution will sound great to Obama, he'll just ignore the rest.

This has been an affliction on ats for the past few weeks. People are making up anything and everything and being melodramatic for some reason.

I've got to tell you, this is a very disturbing trend. Instead of denying ignorance; using our logic to rise above all I see is a bunch of sheep baa-ing at whoever flashes pretty lights at them.

They probably want to bring him in to the white house so they can all stand around laughing and pointing and watch as Nancy Pelosi and Raum Emmanuel take turns poking him with a stick.

Freedom you say? Liberty you jest? Whatever do you mean?

You have to be kidding. Did you even look at this guys past before you voted for him? Obama's rise to power was not without the necessity of paying his dues. He was waist deep in Chicago corrupt politics and at that time was essentially a creature of corrupt slum Lords. Look up Tony Rezko.

Ask yourself how the unqualified Michelle Obama got appointed to the TreeHouse food boards or got the VP position at a major university?

www.countercurrents.org...

No Obama will not be listening to Basso's great ideas. There are other more pressing concerns that have higher monetary value and are more pleasing to the overlords.
