Who is the Face in the Sphinx?

I'm relying on QI here. There are sketches of a noseless Sphinx from 1737, so that's Bonaparte of the hook. An islamic cleric named Sa'im al-Dahr was lynched for damaging the Sphinx in 1378.

I will grant you the majesty of my reply just this once.

The Sphinx bus is a relic discovered in 1841 by Hayward Brittlecombe (Later Lord Kumquise) while on a political mission for the East India Company. No knowing what to make up this "chariot" he had it shipped to Edinburgh where it was hidden in the sub basement of the local Mason's lodge for many decades. It was only snuck back into Egypt during the British Bombardment of Alexandria and the subsequent defeat of the Egyptian army by the British at Tel El-Kabir in 1882.

The information about this chariot was leaked to a German Engineer by the name of Daimler and some of its design secrets were included into European bus designs during the period of the Weimar Republic.

With regards to the head being recarved and such - This isn't gleaned from any scientific source or anything, just a personal observation, but if any of you have a pet cat, look at it's proportions the next time he/she is laid out like the Sphynx, I think the proportions of the head are pretty accurate.

Cats have very long bodies when laid that way and makes their heads look pretty small!

Hans explained this quite well.

Fact is, there is a huge crack running North-South through the sphinx and the enclosure.

Had the beast been carved with decent proportions, this crack would have been so near the hindquarters that the entire rear end would have fallen off in short notice.

The carvers, experienced (of course) in stonework, knew this and extended the rear further west so as to avoid having their own rear ends "fall off" for their ineptness.

Hatshepsut was doing her thing about a thousand years after the Giza plateau was built up. The headress the Sphinx has on is of the "fashion" of the early dynasties.

Anyone with eyes can see the head has been re-carved. It looks and is in much better condition than the body. It should be the reverse with the body being buried in sand protected from the elements for decades maybe centuries. And lions have bigger heads than house cats.

Perhaps it is some future "Pharoah" to come later in their mythology or something along those lines?

the face on the Sphinx is from the astrological Zodiac, and it's a female face - Virgo, the virgin to be specific...

see, "sphinx" means "to join", and it symbolized the beginning and the end of the Zodiac - Virgo the virgin, and Leo the lion

to elaborate, i got this from E. W. Bullinger's The Companion Bible, and it says:

Through the "precession of the Equinoxes" the sun gradually shifts its position a little each year, till in about every 2,000 years it begins the year in a different sign. This was foreseen; and it was also foreseen that succeeding generations would not know when or where the sun began its course, and where the Teaching of this Heavenly Book commenced, and where we were to open its first page. Hence the "Sphinx" was invented as a memorial. It had the head of a woman and the body and tail of a lion, to tell us that this Book, written in the Heavens, began with the sign "Virgo", and will end with the sign "Leo". the word "sphinx" is from the Greek sphingo, to join; because it binds together the two ends of this circle of the heavens.

Does anybody here acknowledge the that the Ancient Egyptians were Black African? And that is was Black Egyptians that enslaved the Jews to build their pyramids.
