I think that it is about time we start looking at this a bit more seriously and stay as updated as we can on which states are headed down freedom road. I've been looking around ATS and couldn't find a thread that mirrors that of mine which I will update accordingly.

A good example of free thinking and action taken on keeping people informed. I know my source is not a major news outlet but do you really think you are going to get this information by searching foxnews etc.

I'm trying my best to keep my composer but The Republic of New Hampshire looks pretty good to me at the moment. Good luck everyone and stay strong in mind and spirit.

I would have taken that more seriously if there were quotes or links to state representatives who were saying there were planing on succeeding from the union. It is not un common for a state to threaten to succeed. When it actually happens I think the reasons will be economic.
Wouldn't you know it, we are in economic trouble right now.

The new head of homeland security, interestingly, was tapped from Arizona. Her name is Janet Napolitano, and she was the govenor of that state.

I don't think anything you provided as a source has it quite right.

Background (Preamble):
A total of 32 states are already declaring sovereignty. This is because the federal govt has gone too far. Bills like H.R. 45 cannot be passed. The stimulus bill does not have to be accepted. A bankrupt government cannot save a bankrupt banking system. Accepting these funds will only put our country further in debt, and drastically increase taxes. Our constitutional rights are rapidly being taken away from us.

The Tenth Amendment provides that “powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

It is our belief that the federal government has consistently over-stepped its constitutional boundaries and usurped the powers reserved to the states, and therefore the people.

A New Mexico Sovereignty Resolution will remind the federal government of its proper role and place.

Our goal is to have a resolution adopted and passed by the New Mexico State Legislature.

The State Sovereignty movement arises from the fact that the balance of power has clearly been taken advantage of by the federal government and that it’s time to restore that power back to the individual states and the people.

Remember that this is not secession. The states are not leaving the union by declaring sovereignty.

So, would you please join us in support of a New Mexico Sovereignty Resolution by signing the petition?

Spread the word in group meetings, such as church, and school meetings. Signing it yourself is great, but getting friends and family involved is even better.

New Mexico has drawn up a resolution since the time this petition started. By signing this petition, you are continuing to support the New Mexico General Assembly to prepare and adopt a Sovereignty Resolution. This petition is to encourage our polititions to continue the process, knowing that we stand behind their efforts.

Something like this has been drawn up for the 32 states mentioned.
