How does the human brain run itself without any software? Find that out, say European researchers, and a whole new field of neural computing will open up. A prototype ‘brain on a chip’ is already working.

Wow it's just so simple... or maybe not, I doubt we'll come close to replicating simple non programmed problem solving in next decade or two but as soon as they do and they implement assumption models then it will only be a short time until we are surplus to requirement.

Kinda makes me wonder if alien species would actually be biological, wouldn't they just kill the inferior species (seeing as they will be based on us) then carry on with their own exploration.
