i believe it canada is soo left its on the verge of a communist nation, the only thing is we don;t have a big military

why would anyone rely on the perspectives of a bible nut-job, who have no apparent understanding of marxism? i've known many devoted christians, and hardly any of them ever have trouble accepting the concept of communism.

f16falcon, even though there's a higher concentration of communists in canada than the u.s., it's still a long time until the gov't itself turns communist. the capitalists will not give up their power just because that's what the people desire.

PO'd out-of-power communists in Russia might carry out an attack like that carried out in the movie Sum of All Fears just to stir up trouble between the US and Russia again. Those WMDs floating around Russia are just as big a threat as Saddam with his arsenal.

so what happend when the people in nicaragua wanted to set up a socialist gov't? did the u.s. not intervene? or did our gov't feel the people were too stupid so they had the right to keep them from creating a democratic gov't, truly run by the people?
even today... in venezuela...
they try to keep us misinformed so we would feel that it's all right to oppose their gov't, and the belief of the people in venezuela.

Well Echelon you simply don't understand that with Communism, it's never ran by the people.

Communism is complete ownership of everything by an "entity" that of its own free will gives out equal shares to the people.

The truest form of communism would be this and ONLY this...Everyone is in a union in the government, the government would opperate just like ours today, and people could own businesses, except, the government would own the "labor" so if a business wanted an employee they have to respond to the governments demands for "safety//pay//benifits" and such, and if the company doesn't meet those, the government takes back the laborer, and finds a new job for him. So on...that is about as close as you can get to it.

No real application though is truly functional, because it all boils down to, someone making the rules, everyone else follows them.

Our constitutional government, isn't supposed to be that way, the fact it's becomming that way means we are probably close to a Civil War, or it's just a phase.

But our government, it isn't a Democracy, or a Republic, it is something stronger, and more free, it is a Federation.

The constitution explicitly says we govern through federalism, and there's no room for communism in federalism, or capitalism.
