3-Spoked UFO photographed by STS-115! The Smoking Gun?

On many shuttle take-offs the thrust from the shuttle main engines makes a physical cone or shape similar to what we see at 28-32 seconds. The shape also rotates as the shuttle begins its rotation.

so the shape we see is a typical thrust-formed energy, in my opinion.

Looks like a satellite to me or at least another piece of space junk. It seems to be moving in just as random a fashion as the rocket piece.

How would lens flare rotate like that? I thought lens flare would be pretty static. I am no expert so I could be totally wrong on this so please explain to us non camera savvy people.

Whatever it is......it's not normal...and does not feel right being there. i have no clue what it is though....It's not a light reflection like somebody thought it was.

Looks like the ice shown in this video.

If you watch closely you see that the object is following the movement of the camera. Looks like a piece of ice sliding downwards over the lens or the glass it's filmed through. No ufo.

It's hard to tell. It looks like something falling but then seems to slow up and become clearer in appearance. It's definately not an ice crystal, so it goes into the unexplained for me.

That think looks like a shroud or parachute in free fall ... wonder if the shuttle lost it?

I think the posters who linked the other STS videos nailed it. It looks just like those ice forms falling, just at a different angle. We will never know for sure. Great video nonetheless.

Guys, considering there are about 750 functioning satellites in Earth orbit amongst thousands of pieces of abandoned hardware...this is clearly a satellite in a lower orbit than the shuttle but higher than the external fule tank which is falling away.

If somebody can find the time, date and place of this shot we can search any of a number of satellite databases to get a nice picture of it.

With the camera pointing downwards, where would the light be coming from?? The tank is brownish, and if it was reflexing, there's no surface on it that I can see that could reflex light.
