"Daddy Come here" A little munchkin voice yelled. It was my 6 year old son.

"What's up L'il Dude?"

"Daddy! Come here!

I got up from my computer and went to his bedroom. He's had Step Throat for the last couple of days, and his fever is finally getting back to normal. Call me a softy, but whenever he's sick I dote on him way to much. Making sure he's comfortable as can be, and letting him watch pretty much whatever he wants.

So I walk into his bedroom, and he's under a pile of blankets. He had a brown shoe box next to him on the bed. A plain brown shoe box. Plain to many, extraordinary to me. The top was off and some of the contents were strewn about.

"Daddy! I found a picture of you!"

It was a picture of my Father. He was in Civvies. I never realized that I resemble my father before. He was only 6 foot tall, had olive skin, brown eyes, and dark hair. I'm taller, have blue eyes, light skin, and light brown hair. But........

"Nope that's not me Dude. That's your Pop Pop."

"It looks like you Daddy!"

Uncanny. 46 years old, and it took a 6 year old to point that out to me.

"Daddy answer me!"

"What's up L'il Dude?"

"Answer me!" he yelled.

"Yes. You're right. It does look like me."

"What's up Dude?"

"Can we go crabbing? Pop Pop says he wants us to go."

He freaks me out some times, as he seems to see/correspond with my Dad sometimes. Not anything dramatic or weird, but he really does say some things sometimes that are exactly the way my Dad would say it.

"When you get better we'll go crabbing."

"Daddy. Pop Pop says he's handsomer than you."

The 2 of us. No the 3 of us had a nice laugh over that.

I miss you Dad.
