Well, well, well, who would have thought?

Obama criticizes some Guantanamo release decisions

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says the U.S. hasn't done a good job sorting out who should be released from the Guantanamo Bay detention center.

Obama says in a broadcast interview that some of the people released from the facility in Cuba have rejoined terrorist groups. He also says U.S. officials have not always been effective in determining which prisoners will be a danger once they are let go.

But he says the Bush administration's policy of holding detainees for years on end with no trials is "unsustainable,' and has only fueled anti-American sentiments.

Seriously?

And here I thought they would all become boy scout leaders.

Well I guess we see the ramification of making hasty political pandering photo op decisions,
Kinda like pushing through a stimulus plan without reading it first.

Well our system says we either charge them or release them, if they don;t have enough evidence or information to charge them then we MUST release them. Some will go to terror orgs after years of torture, no rights and God knows what. But interestingly not spoken but must be true is that some released DIDN'T join terror groups. Which probably means they should have never been held in the first place.

This country's system was set up so that 100 guilty would go free rather than one innocent be wrongfully jailed. As much as it may hurt some peoples notions of what is the right thing to do, Charging or releasing is the right thing to do..

Some? I'd be willing to be a whole lotta them have. We should have chipped them all and followed the signals. That would have led us to the terrorist cells that we could inturn blast the hell out of.

Give them the martyrdom that they so anxiously want.

How do you think they knew where they went?
