Hi all. After many months of coming here just to read, I finally registered, because I got an email from the Army Reserves that sent a chill down my spine.

Classification: UNCLASSIFIED
Caveats: NONE

I am looking for Soldiers interested in becoming a Corrections
Specialist for a new MP unit in the Bay Area. Major duties: Control,
Supervise, and Counsel military prisoners and manage confinement
operations and correctional treatment programs.

If you are not 31E qualified, we will reclass you. Getting you qualified
will be our priority. You are authorized mobilization deferment for 2

If you are currently applying for civilian law enforcement, this will
definitely enhance your resume and prepare you for the academy!

I have been out of the Army for over three years now, and I get emails trying to get me to come back at least once a week. It may be nothing, but this one struck me as odd.

I grew up near Camp Parks. There are no Army or military prisons in the area, nor in all of Northern California. There are some in Southern California, but don't you think they would set up the unit there if that was the area it was for? The Santa Rita Jail, for the county of Alameda, is adjacent to Camp Parks. I suppose they could be used to support the guards there as the state of California is going bankrupt, however, I thought that would violate Posse Comitatus. I understand this could be for a deployment, but the wording of the job description had me thinking one thing...

FEMA Camps.

I just wanted to post this here, because I know there are smarter people on here than me, that can connect this to everything else that is going on in the United States right now.

You really should have left off that personnel info. You wouldn't post your number for all to read would you?

I'm taking it you was a reservist? You probably didn't get deleted from that paticular persons mass email list.

They are looking for soldiers in a field that they have shortages in.

They do it all the time in the Reserves. My buddy of 15 years changed his MOS 4 times in 8 years like this.

It gets you alot of job skills.
