I can't remember the name of it, but is a song by the Dire Straights. I remember on the vinyl record that the one song took up the whole side, and the song really sucked.

Telegraph road is 15 minutes, but it can't be that; since the solos in that were amazing.

Well, American Pie is long, SHow That Never Ends by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer is long, the full version(not radio edit or cd/tape edit) is over 20min. But the longest?

Indagoddavita, full version, played in concert, with a 3 HOUR guitar solo. Thatsjust the guitar solo, 3 Hours! ALthough, someone mentioned a song by Wagner that is 12 hours.

If it's the Wagner I know of, he is the guy who has done War, Zarathrusta, Ride of the Valkries(sp?) and In the Hall of the Mountain King.

Also, go Arlo Gunthrie! Alice's Resturant is great! Also love Cow Patti and Motorcycle Pickle song! Although City of New Orleans isn't to shabby either.

The last song on Frances The Mute (Cassandra Geminni) pushes on to half an hour.

Having said that, the album is not stop noise from start to finish, which is 1 hour 16 mins long.

See Cassandra Geminni live. Woo mama. I was wigging out like some guy with at least 4 wigs! YES, 4!

Wagner didn´t make "In the Hall of the Mountain King". It was Edvard Grieg, a norwegian composer...

kashmir by led zeppelin.. almost 9 minutes long I think.

its also super annoying, I think. its also a fairly slow song so it feels like it takes 20 minutes to listen to it.

I'm not sure if this has been said yet, but Mike Oldfield's album "Tubular Bells" consisted of two parts. Part 1 was 25:30, while Part 2 was 23:19. I think it can also be argued that any Jethro Tull album is basically one long song, so that is around a 75 minute song right there.

Classical tracks and live versions notwithstanding...

I think one of the longest I've ever heard is Nick Cave's "Babe, I'm on Fire".

It rounds out at a respectable 15 minutes or so. The video is hysterical...if you can get past the lyrics

Yeah, Stevie Ray was awsome. I still miss him.:shk:
