You know... this thread keeps popping up on my MyATS sidebar because I posted in it awhile back. And it makes me mad just to think about the dumb crap they're trying to pull

Well guess what, government? I have no intention of abiding by this law. It's as simple as that. I'm not destroying ANY of my property at the government's demands unless they plan on replacing every last bullet with a new "legal" one.

Good job. Do you think we have a chance at stopping them? I see this as only the beginning of a total ban.

I am also not destroying my uncoded, serialized ammo.

Here is something else to consider. If the ecomomy gets worse, which it will! Crime will increase 10 fold. Robberies, breaking and entering in to homes to take what we have.

Also there is an incrase of drug users, for whatever their reasons. These people will do anything to get what they want.

I expect to see some nasty stuff hit the streets before 2010, possibly sooner if the banking system collapses.

People could get desperate for food, try to steal our guns, etc. Crime is already bad. Can you imagine it getting worse?

I fully agree with the drug use going up. I have noticed more and more drug dealers moving into our area. I guess its because the idiots decided if they couldnt get working folks to rent out here instead they would rent to anyone that they could rent to. Now I have a drug dealer across the road from me. and a prostitute beside of him. Then I have a drug dealer 2 doors behind me and one 3 doors behind me. You would be surprised at all the bad folks I see coming and going in the neighborhood daily and nightly. That is why I keep my guns around. And 4 really big dogs. My property value went down from $159,000 to $18,000 this year due to the rifraf.

I'm guessing you are female if your user name ends in huntress? If so I'm glad to see one on this thread. If not I aplologize. Sometimes it's hard to tell.

Wow, That sounds so familiar. A few years ago i found IV drug needles in my alley.

I lived next door to one drug dealer and another lived across the street. they would leave their front porch light on when they were selling it.

This was also 1/2 block from the elementary School!

Soon gangs were hanging around downtown. I sold my house and moved to the country. Now my only fear is cougars.

An Elerly man was killed near ne. He was a church elder. They broke in to steal his coin collection and her caught and arrested.

So living out here or anywhere for that matter is safe anymore.

I have guns for protection, hunting, and as a collector.

Funny about the dogs. I have one Ferocious beast a German shepherd.

I bought him for a security guard too. I figured 4 is too expensive to feed.

I’d rather buy up more uncoded ammo and another gun before they are banned.

Those dogs will protect you. Ive had thoughts of "What if someone shot or poisoned my dog" I guess it would give me time to unlock my gun.

My house has other cheap secuity features. I ordered some door and window alarms online. They were only about 5 bucks each and a heavy duty door stopper for 10 bucks.

I live in the country, And we Bought the house because it was a quite peaceful neighborhood. Behind us there is a double wide Subdivision and a man bought up a ton of places and was renting them out to Mexicans, But now all the mexicans have gone back to Mexico and now its just drug dealers and trash moving in. We were lucky when we got this place. But now I no longer feel lucky. The local police station is 10 minutes away yet if you call 911, it takes them 2 hours to get here.

We were robbed 2 years ago and they did nothing to the people that did it. We even saw the people that did it and they still wouldnt go and even question them. They said they had to be on the property when they got here. So that meant I would have to offer them a sandwich and a drink until when the police arrived. Because you cant hold anyone at gunpoint because they can arrest you instead. Go figure. NC laws are screwey.

I told hubby next time I shoot first then ask questions. I dont care if I get thrown in jail or not. No one is breaking in my home again and stealing my stuff and getting away with it.

I am sure it will get alot worse over the next couple of years. But at least I have my dogs and my guns. I breed my dogs so I can sell puppies that way I can afford to feed them. I also have been through the poisoning. I lost 2 dogs in the past 2 years. But the 4 I have now wont eat food that people throw to them.

Stuff like this makes me wonder if cops are afraid to deal with the bad ass's. They go after the law abiding citizens for having guns, as they are easier to handle.

Getting guns aways from the freaks is much harder to do. I'm glad your dogs are well trained.

I have some halfway house 5 miles down the road. A few people who owned homes next to them move out. I think these guys just got out of prison or drug rehab, maybe both.

I also worry about property values in the area because of this place. I see these guys walking down the highway at times. One neighbor found a drun guy sleeping in her well pump house and another neighbor went and grabbed him out.

If anyone enters my home at night, that I dont know I would shoot first, as well and ask question later. I have twin teen daughters, in my home that I would die to protect!

i just got my monthly gunbroker.com newsletter in my email and the one article states they are expecting a 500-1000% increase in ammo prices!!!!
and a backlog on orders from factories of up to and possibly longer than 6 months.
wtf? it already costs $15 for a box of .45 acp but 1000%! ridiculous
told you they would make guns useless because noone will be able to afford ammo.

what do you mean by this?Making ammo is easy?Any one will be able to make it so why ban it?I remeber reading why they banned ephedrine or heavily restricted it , they said anyone could easily make meth in their bathroom. well it aint easy top do so and it aint easy to make your own ammo. unless you have a proper set up to do so.I think they should put backward firing ammo out so any one who shoots a gun will be immediatley shot by self.thusly ridding the world of gunnuts and self described constitutuional defenders who demand the same righhts they had when this country was borned.

That's scary. I'm driving to town later to see if my county is affected. I think we are turning Commie! Skip the Socialist thing!

I do have a lot but if you think about it it's impossible to have too much ammo. I cant even go target shooting. It would waste my ammo.

I guess I'll save in for the bad guys and crime spree break outs.

I've never attempted to re-load but my brother in law would teach me.

I dont mean to answer for bigfoot, but what he meant is you can re-load your ammo if you can get your hands on re-loading equiptment.

It too may become illegal.

I'm sure he will reply to your question too.

How are they depriving you of anything, you can still have your precious ammo as long as it's coded. How is that bad?

"as long as it's coded..." Oh sure, I just have to dispose of my current stores and stop reloading any of my own ammo... FORGET IT. You can have my legally purchased stores of ammo when you pry them from my cold dead hands! It's MY property, you have no constitutional right to take it from me, force me to dispose of it, or even force me to sell it back to you (not that this wanton destruction of private property is being compensated for at all, wouldn't want to redistribute any wealth to those "rich evil conservatives" now would we?).

Out of curiosity, how do you think they'll code individual shotgun pellets? They won't, even though the law requires it, effectively banning all privately owned shotgun ammunition. All other ammunition will be cost prohibitive.

What is there to fight?

The unconstitutional attack on legally owned private property and on reloading one's own ammunition. Just try and stop us.

How nice that you openly admit you want me dead. And yes, I will go to my grave defending the rights promised to us at the birth of this country. I would hope any american would be willing to do that, but sadly most don't care that much anymore.

Hi, I dont mean to but in but I'm glad you are reading the posts. Some are totally off the wall.

Others in gun banned coutries portay a non violent, non crime, peaceful harmony. I told one guy if that's the case I would pack my bags and fly to Paradise today.

I do wish more people would read them so I wouldnt have to answer why I'm opposed to coded ammo and databases. Privacy issues, the Constitution, etc.

We still have that freedom for the time being. I for one will fight to keep that right.

Thanks

yes i meant reloading ammo is easy- just meticulous and time consuming. but making it is next to impossble unless you are a machinist, a chemist, have the raw materials needed and god knows how many 1000's of $'s it would cost for the equipment, and even if you had all that you would need a large factory and probably be found out right away anyhow.
so for an average person to "make" ammo it is next to impossible

You didnt hear it from me,,,well to late now. It's illegal but some make their own gunpowder with Saltpeter.charcoal, and sulphur.

From what Ive heard you can get arrested for making it.

If I run out of ammo I have a nice hand rocket sling shot. If I run out of that ammo I can always use rocks. I usually miss my target with that method.

well i have a bow and soon they will be illegal next probably. as for rocks- i was an very good pitcher and 3rd basemen in hs and college- i can hit what i throw at (not always tho)but if you miss an animal with that method they are gone- no 2nd chance lol. and even if you do hit it not a great chance you will kill it.
guess i'll have to stick with my sharpened stick or maybe make a spear like the indians did
pretty soon nothing will be legal to kill or defend with. there go our pencils!
hell they are even trying to make it illegal to grow or gather your own food so they can control that too and censor the net to keep us from even talking about subjects such as these.
getting tired of control freaks i know that!!!!!

Control freaks are right. That's funny, you should hide all your pencils. I bought a book called Primative hunting skills. It explains how to live off the land with nothing but your bare hands. It's pretty interesting.

I like the sharpened stick spear idea too. It reminds me of one of my favorite movies with Anthony Hopkins called "The Edge" It's a survival story. you should rent it. They kill the bear with the stick.

you can kill someone with most anything.
whether it be the harder way or the easier way doesn't matter- end result is the same.
hell i could take a quarter, scrape it on a rock so it is like razor blade and slit someone's throat with it.
guess we should outlaw coins now too.
and btw many people have been killed by pencils and pens whether it be accidental or intentional- doesn't happen often but it does happen

Good point. You can also sharpen rocks into Indian arrow heads, that are sharper than a knife. It seems like a lot of work to do it though.

If guns are banned. I also have a wooden baseball bat. I'm sure you do since you were a pitcher!

One good wack over the head might work.

I didnt check out the ammo store yet but will tomorrow. It's after 5 so I cant call them and ask about the availablility of if there is a one box limit.

That would freak me out!
