How about we microstamp all our corrupt politicians and bureaucrats, RFID their salaries and track their social schedule so that we know who they really represent in our halls of government?

I fail to understand why so many of you sincerely LOVE and TRUST government more than your countrymen?

This is a form of insanity and it is the role of the historical Peasant. In fact, America is falling because we have imported millions upon millions of Peasants who, in the final analysis, wish with every gene in their DNA to be led and directed, absolving them from the responsibility of living.

Last I checked the coded Ammo Can STILL BE SOLD after June 30th.

Sorry you don't want your bullets 100% traceable... But if you're putting them into someone and they shouldn't be; well I guess you'll just have to be held accountable.

It's not about disarming Legitimately armed citizens. It's about making it harder for a criminal to pull a trigger and not be prosecuted for their crime.

I'm not a gun advocate, but I'm damn well NOT for disarming either...

That said I see absolutely nothing wrong with coded ammo.

I for one know If I ever have to kill someone I have a completely justifiable reason to do so; to the extent of being justifiable within a court of Law.

*readys his flame proof cap*

bring it!

Edit to Add: Also nice to add an

UNDETERMINED

Snopes Link as proof! Really makes your story that much more believable!

For what it's worth, there was a tip sent in to another site I frequent that was posted today:

"According to a Deputy Sheriff, ammunition will no longer be supplied to retail outlets for the public. What outlets have on the shelves and in stock now, is all they will be getting. Ammunition will be directed to the Military and Police Forces, ONLY. This 'word' comes from a long time friend of the family who is a Deputy Sheriff and has been for some 15 years.

I have no proof of this claim, but I am positive you will be hearing more about it soon."

Something to do with it? Even if the chances of that being true are slim, I think I'll go pick up a little more, just in case.

Not sure it's true, may just be an hysterical rumor. I know this, the NRA hasn't contacted me about it, and they're usually the first to sound the alarm.

Well, the reason this sounds really suspicious is because the police and military forces combined don't use enough ammunition to keep the ammo companies in business. Only the retail sale of ammo to the public keeps those companies in business.

So, if the "gubbmint" bans all retail sales to the public, they're essentially killing the ammo industry.

Aint gonna happen.

lets hope so- and we can all work together when the shtf
and remember if the worst scenario were to happen make sure you take the ammo off the person you killed. even if you don't need it you can always barter/trade for it!

Hey you have some COOL ideas. I knew that why we were friends!

We should also buy common ammo we dont use to trade for food, or anything.

Not talking about coded ammo. I'm talking about the rumor that the gubbmint is going to ban all retail sale of ammo to the public, restricting it only to police and military. If they do that, 90% of the ammo industry will collapse. So much for economic stimulus.

Oh, I see!

It's still a scary thought though isnt it?

If it were up to the Democrats I'm sure they wll strive for that goal in their grand plans of regulation. CRAZY

I've said for years that the anti-gun communists in our government would make a grab for our ammunition before they tried to physically remove our firearms. I mean, if only 1% of American gun-owners actually revolted and used their firearms against the authorities, there would be 800,000 shoot-outs — that's 800,000 Ruby Ridges — all across America, and I can guarantee you the gubbmint would be the loser.

Guarantee it.

Perhaps a "good plan" to those in government who think the American gun-owner will just sit back and let it happen.

Fortunately, the 80 Million American gun-owners also represent a tremendous number of voters, and if the commies in government want to piss us off, they're going to see a voting turnout in 2010 that makes this last general election look like peanuts.

When you deliberately target 80 Million law-abiding Americans and try to stab them in the back with unconstitutional (and just plain treasonous) legislation, those 80 Million Americans are going to Vote against you the first chance they get.

So, our little friend Obama may find himself dealing with a 90% conservative Congress a lot sooner than he anticipated.

A good point, those 80 million gun owners is the purpose behind this bill.

Homeland Security will soon have the power to deceptively help fight crime. They trump the voters.

There are too many unfounded terrorist threats being created in our Nations. Yes they do a good job to piss us off!

Some are expecting a Global change, which in fact may infringe upon our voting rights as well. We’ll soon see what comes out of the next G20 meeting.

I guess that is a totally different issue but find it appropriate.

I was just thinking about how there have been comments made here and in other threads I frequent that I wish I could post somewhere to vent about how angry they made me, sooo I made one in bts Worst comments ever feel free to stop by and offer any quotes you feel fit the category but keep all quotes anonymous of course.
In so far as coding is concerned I think it's fair to say that coding will only encourage black market sales and push a resentment on this administration and an overall resentment for government in its current face.

OK firstly I'm Australian and I resent the idea that we cannot have an opinion on gun control because we have already been screwed by our government.

Rather than just belittling the Australians you could look at why the gun laws were put in place.

New South Wales Labour Premier, Mr. Barry Unsworth stated, "there would be no effective gun control in Australia until there was a massacre in Tasmania"

And luckily Martin Bryant a kid with an IQ of around 60 walked into a cafe and in 60seconds managed to shoot 20 people dead, 19 from single headshots whilst shooting from the hip. An obvious con job that the public lapped up.

But there's already other topics dedicated to this. I'm just saying sure we allowed gun control, however we were blindly lead into it much like will happen in the US eventually.

By the way, I don't own a gun or feel the need to own a gun. It's not exactly hard to get a hold of a weapon in Australia tho if you really want one, the only thing is you have to deal with criminals to get them. Or farmers, if your in the country.

The funny thing is that when $#!T hit's the fan it will be organised crime that will be the first line of defence for the common man. The Bikies in Australia get a bad wrap now, but if the NWO ever actually tried to be implemented in plain sight it would be the bikies who will save us.

I agree to a point however if SHTF it’s the organized and unorganized crime sprees that I fear.

This will be grounds to keep my gun. Riots are close at hand and crime will increase. That is worrisome to me.

I would never suggest getting rid of your guns. Like I said I don't feel the need to own one myself, I strongly feel I should have the right to own one tho.

Gun control is a scapegoat for bigger problems, I really think anti-depressants are more responsible for the school shootings than guns.

But we're a messed up society, got a headache have a panadol, can't sleep take one of these, can't stay awake take one of these, depressed? take valium, can't get it up? take viagra. Too fat take a pill, too skinny take a supplement and above all else DON'T DO DRUGS.

Maybe I'm wrong tho and if we can eradicate video games, handguns and heavy metal all of the problems of society will be solved.

But back to the point I guess it just goes to show that it doesn't matter who you vote for, all the candidates take orders from the same people. Rights are going to keep reducing until we wish for the freedoms of Nazi Germany.

Your comment "But back to the point I guess it just goes to show that it doesn't matter who you vote for, all the candidates take orders from the same people. Rights are going to keep reducing until we wish for the freedoms of Nazi Germany. "

This sums it up for me, as well. We may soon being seeing other methods of gun control. Ammo is just for starters.

i love the aussies-some of the nicest peopel i have ever met and i love the accent.
my cousins bf is from there and just 2 months ago i took him shooting and taught him about safety, how to shoot etc. and he couldn't believe how fun it was and that i can just go shooting whenever i feel like it and carry a concealed weapon almost everywhere i feel like. I tototally turned his attitude around.
the people who fear guns are the people who have no KNOWLEDGE of guns or want to control you. criminals will love this if/when it passes. think about it no fear of retaliation! criminals (gov't too but same thing) that is a wet dream come true for them.
and to wonderworld my friend the reason i stepped up to 30/06 from 308 is becauseit's a bit more powerful and the people in our hunting camp and the ones around mostly use 30/06 so if someone losesammo or runs out there will always be someone who has some. so as you said it is a good idea to carry common rounds.
45/70 govt is a great round for hunting but how many people do you know that have one?
