esciencenews.com

Food, water and energy shortages will unleash public unrest and international conflict, Professor John Beddington will tell a conference tomorrowA "perfect storm" of food shortages, scarce water and insufficient energy resources threaten to unleash public unrest, cross-border conflicts and mass migration as people flee from the worst-affected regions, the UK government's chief scientist will warn tomorrow.

This is hardly suprising really, with the ever growing population of the planet and strain on our natural resources what else would you expect. We know that we need to change the way we live so our children can live too. Can we trust world goverments to take the right steps forward and reduce our dependency of dwindling natural reserves?, can we as individuals change our whole way of thinking to step out of our comfort zone and be self sustained?. This to me will become the planets next big challenge, forget global warming, war, alien invasion and the like. Whats going to happen when we have no water or power or even food.

this isn't about world population, this is about world corruption!

stop using ethanol, what happened to the electric car
decriminalize marijuana and start using hemp

there's an answer for everything!
just no one wants to implement the solutions because either of loss of money or because there's still trillions of dollars to be made.

You will find that most will attempt to convince us that 'bio fuels' is the way to go..., thus completely disrupting our production/consumption balance while they get richer...

But most importantly you'll hear the new all-time favorite phrase of every responsible person who should be responsible....

"No one could have predicted ..... [fill in the blank]"

Does that mean that there would be hemp powered cars?

Seriously, I suppose that they should have seen the problem of using bio-fuel some time ago, Brazil has been using it for several years.

This is nothing more than a perpetuation of the myth of scarcity.

In fact, all of these things mentioned are only scarce based on the way we think today.

Tomorrow, we can get one more piece of data which can turn it all on it's head.

yes indeed, hemp oil is full energy,
and probably more than this bloody biofuel

i recommend this reading for those that don't quite now yet that hemp can have 25000 different uses without consuming much water, without making the earth from Mother Earth so poor and unable to grow anything else,

etc : www.world-mysteries.com...

It is this scarcity that they will base the price increases on, yet we still have mountains of butter, wine, diamonds, chocolate and other goods...

Crikey, look at what Ikea has in stock...

That won't be the case when the dollar collapses and those foreign nations we trade with refuse the US dollar. There are quite a number of things we import that we depend upon for manufacturing lots of things. Imagine if suddenly we couldn't manufacture aluminum, that would affect everyone and every business and in a very big way. Scarcity isn't just a scarcity of natural resources, it is also the inability to purchase what we need because of any reason or cause, be it weather or economically caused. When the dollar crashes, the game is over. And, it's no longer an IF the dollar crashes ~ it's now a matter of WHEN! There is no avoiding it now, it's going to happen, and that is a certainty.

Wake up and stop believing the lies you are being fed.

Use that brain that you have for something other then calculating how much money you have to spend on bull crap.

Go back to being childlike.

Question everything.

Ask "WHY". Demand answers that make sense and that you can understand

Most important make "NO" your favorite and most used word.

I know, but that way we would have the same problem, using good land for the production of fuel.

Brazil has been using ethanol for 30 years without problems because they have enough land and use advanced technology on the farms that produce the sugar cane used for the making of ethanol.

Any place that can not afford using good land to grow "machine food" instead of "animal food" should not do it, it's worse to spend the land producing fuel than producing food.
