The Xinhua News Agency, the official government press agency of the Peoples Republic of China, recently reported on a UFO sighting made by a number of journalists, along with government officials and a plane load of passengers.
The sighting took place on February 24 of this year on a Southern Airlines flight which was flying to Nanjing at around 6pm. A group of journalists were socialising during the flight when one of them noticed an unusual luminous object travelling alongside the airplane. At this point the Journalist alerted a number of security officials and the other journalists with whom he was travelling together with. The journalist managed to snap a few photos before the object shot off in a north easterly direction. The object was visible for around one minute.
The witnesses were all stunned by what they saw and started debating whether it was a UFO. Some argued it might have been an airplane. A few minutes later another plane did appear on the horizon and all agreed it had little in common with the unexplainable object they saw and concluded they had witnessed a UFO.
‘Xinhua seems to be taking the UFO phenomena rather seriously lately, perhaps this is the lead up to some form of disclosure by the Chinese Government, who I suspect know a lot’ noted one Chinese ufologist.

If this news report is to be believed then we have a very interesting case here,the photo is definitely of something.However could it just be a reflection of a light source coming from inside the plane? And if so how does that account for the story of the group of journalists.Mind you it won't have been the first time some journalists have got together and made up a story to suit there own needs.

Oh my god! the alien language is very similar to our Chinese!
that pic honestly looks like nothing to me, like not even a craft, just a...blotch. You'd think if it was there for a whole minute theyd get more and better pictures... and from more passengers.

If its not a photoshopped pic I dunno what that is though!

Sorry guys, not of alien origin. The picture is of another aircraft heading away and the cloud/vapors you see are the contrails highlighted by the sunlight. I saw a similar pic in a MUFON mag from a few months ago (one of Filer's Files).

I see them all the time when I'm up front driving one of these airliners (which I do for a living).

Guys hold up, the Chinese, they are not used to looking at odd things.
They don't get shows like, House, a grumpy Doctor, or shows like, Big Brother, a Grumpy Brother.
They get to see El Presidente talking telling them how wonderful he is.
Its different for them.
A change in the viewing of state TV is a UFO for them.

Thanks for your post,its great to get an experts view on this.The story sounds great and interesting but the photo of the object is a big let down.They must have all been drinking and made this story up for a laugh.

Ok, so if the story is true, I'd hope journalists would know what a cloud or contrail look like. If it is a UFO it could possibly be a "cloud ship" or "light ship."

Looks like a cloud to me too.

It does look like a cloud but then again it's much higher up than the other clouds in the photo.

I'm wondering if it could be a cloud caused by a meteor burning up in the upper atmosphere. The brightness of it seems due to it catching the sun.

Could someone have a go at translating the news article. I never really get too excited over photos. The story and circumstances of the object in question are best examined by the testimony of who saw it. Thats the only way you can ever ascertain what it is. When examing a photo, out of context with the testimony, nothing can be determined. All you get is a list of probabilities, of say 1-10 or more. On that list is also the ufo/et thing. I'm far more iterested in what others saw, or felt it do, or even if anyone was pinged or contacted, as some times happens.

What I see looking at the photo could be described as a cloud ship, only not the typical saucer kind. I would give my probability of it being et in origin.

Surely someone can translate the article though, there may be pertinent testimony there.
