Gun Advocates Ready for Battle on Federal Assault Weapons Ban

On the deal about farmers and ranchers taking IQ tests. I didnt say that people had to be Enstein to own a gun, just that they have short IQ test where they only have to score average. I live on a farm in the midwest and I know many farmers and ranchers that own guns, thats fine. But I wouldn't want some old crazy farmer to own a shotgun (or any gun).

On th topic of getting guns illegally. all guns sold legally in the US should have a certain trade mark or barcode that prooves the gun was bought
legally. So if the police find some gangster w/ an unmarked gun, the gun can taken, trade-marked and sold to the public. Remote scanning devices could be used by the police or miltary to watch the flow of arms and make sure they are not used in mexico by the drug cartels or terrorists anywhere.

The IQ test wouldn't have to be incredibly difficult. I agree, it shouldn't be geared toward urban dependants, it should be geared toward gun owners with common sense. The offical safety course should take no longer than an hour and then give them the short IQ test for 'geared' for gun owners and people with common sense. Any citizen of any age should be should be able to hear the safety course and pass the test (at least 90%) and own a gun. There should be at least some high school level questions on the test to prevent children from owning guns. Its a given that people that want to own guns should have a background check and be a legal resident of the US.

All citizens that do this make our world more safe and should get the gun safety course for free and a discount on any guns they want, paid by Uncle Sam.

They get their fire arms from other sources just as easily as they can get them from the US.

Just where do you think that they get their full auto weapons from?? Not here.

And, just where do you think that we get our full auto weapons from that show up on our city streets from time to time??????

Because I can guarantee you that there are no gangsters gunsmithing AK-47’s. They don’t even know how to keep a gun clean much less modify it.

If they are so worried about illegal guns crossing the border then they can kill THREE BIRDS WITH ONE STONE!

No, I don't buy into that crap about our firearms being the bane of Mexico’s existence. All guns made by any company have a serial number I KNOW, whether made in the US, UK, or in Germany. But having a remote scanning device placed on US guns cound be used to proove that guns made or sold in the US are NOT being used in mexico by the drug cartels. This would stop law makers from pushing gun bans with cold hard truth.

IF you actually think about it, where is all "your neighbors" tax dollars going to anyway. Let's think... how about AIG, foreign banks, overpayed Union workers at GM, earmarks, people who bought houses they couldn't afford, etc... and the list goes on and on. So why not give some of this money to respectable American citizens who's right to buy and own a gun is very close to being infringed, heck I'd pay my taxes for that, wouldn't you?

The truth really has no effect in the realm of politicians with an agenda. Are you naive? Their only goal is to get rid of guns do you truly believe that they will let a little thing like truth get in the way??????

Not really. Like you and I said, it's a right not a privilege and nobody has the authority to take that away or place any restriction on it. To believe so is only playing into their hands. And trying to placate to their agenda by finding solutions around OUR RIGHTS is detrimental to that very right. (Do you Follow?) We need not find a solution, ownership is our right and they can't take it away to do so is an act of war on the American people!

As for the bailouts I detest such Socialistic measures, and that's all I will say about that issue. I'm not going to get off topic.

I believe to get rid of excuses of politicans have for not doing the right thing (allowing respectful Americans to keep the right to buy a gun at an affordable price), you must get past the lies that they do and don't believe, and the lies and truth they tell the public. This will bring you to the root of how much integerty a politician has. I believe conservative politicians have the most integerty. To bring as many eyes as possible to look on the truth, you need hard cold evidence that anyone could believe (including stubborn politicians). By the way, they are human too, and all humans are born with the knowedge of right and wrong (no matter how supressed).

When the law is dealt in truth, true rights are justified.

Eric Holder can't stop coc aine from being brought up through the border; he can't keep the Mexican drug gangsters themselves from coming up through the border, and he can't enforce an assault weapons ban when the Mexican drug gangs who make their money bringing illegal things up through the border can just throw a few no-kidding machine guns in with every bale of marijuana they send up.

When the Clintons pushed the assault weapons ban through Congress, it was all those scary white men in the Michigan Militia and the Ku Klux Klan who were the boogey man. Now Holder is using all those scary brown men who liberal immigration policy (instead of placing land mines along the border and doing everything else necessary to absolutely close it to illegal immigration) have allowed to make Phoenix, Arizona into a Wild West frontier town to reinstate a stupid law which seeks to make middle-class American taxpayers into criminals for no good reason at all.

Then again, someone whose pastor rags on Whitey all the time (like our scumbag President) probably has nightmares about well-armed white people. Not our problem that he's a racist.

I think you should have to pass an IQ test to VOTE. It would have prevented Obama from being elected....

Me and my family own a gun shop in California and it's bad here most if not ALL of this #. almost monthly we have new gun laws, we have customers that go to gun shows, or shops out of state just for fun not to buy guns and the shop owner find out they are from Cali and they ask them to leave (that I understand)

They (Government) makes it sooooo hard to even buy a gun from us. We don't and WON"T do straw purchases, we don't sell cheap guns such as Hi Points just because the gang bangers buy them. We do all we can to put the arms in the citizens that have the RIGHT to bear arms and everyday we get our right taken away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

soon we will be out of business we have had the shop for 25yrs not sure how much longer we can last!

Actually the AK-47 is pretty reliable and cheap. And it is in major use no doubt by the drug cartels. And many of the drug cartels have military trained hit-men. So they do likely know how to maintain their firearms.

And there are millions of AK-47s floating around Central America as a result of various Communist-led insurgencies in Latin America over the past thirty or forty years; if the cartels want brand new ones, the Chinese will sell them all they can use. And the Democratic Party will take money not to penalize the Chinese for doing so. Think that the same drug cartels that are bringing PEOPLE and DRUGS into the United States with a wink and a nod from Obama's party will have trouble smuggling GUNS into the country?

They do not allow us to do anything, so far we are still citizens of a free country that acknowledges our natural rights.

They do not ALLOW us to do anything.

This will bring you to the root of how much integrity a politician has.

We haven't had a politician with integrity for a great long while.

THE ONLY POLITICIANS THAT CAN BE TRUSTED ARE THOSE THAT ARE RELUCTANT TO ACCEPT THE OFFICE. THOSE THAT SEEK SUCH POWER HAVE ONLY THEIR EGO OR POCKET AT HEART.

What stopped the United States and the Soviet Union from resorting to nuclear warfare during the Cold War? The knowledge that each nation possessed such weapons, and would retaliate in kind. The policy was known as MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction). How many times do I actually have to remind people that criminals ARE criminals, by definition they do not adhere to laws. Take away any type of gun from law abiding citizens and criminals will still have assault weapons, not to mention a poorly armed populace ripe for the robbing. Ban any kind of gun and you are only empowering the criminals. Why do people call the cops? They have guns, I say remove the middleman. Besides, who can guarantee that the cops will be able to respond to a situation before an intruder puts a bullet in you? If you disagree, fine, just don't call 911 the next time someone tries to break into your home, call the coroner.
