Seriously, do you know what would of happened if they hadn't done something? Do you realize how many more people would of lost their houses?

No, how many? How would the failure of AIG affected the average American? I have no faith in the bailout or stimulus and there is no indication that it is working.

The original "Tea Party" was not 'sissy.' At what grade did you leave school? The patriots who participated destroyed some of England's most valuable imports as it sat in Boston harbor. They refused to pay increasing taxes on English products for American consumption when they were given no real voice or control in their affairs.

Ask a grown-up, and they will tell you this is about where things are today.

The "Tea Party" movement is a symbolic statement to the government that Americans with a stake in their commmunity and Country demand to be heard and responded to.

This won't appear on youtube. It is not on iTunes. You have to be able to read and think for yourself, or know someone who can.

Okay, the bulk of this thread is a partisan flame war which I just skimmed over so forgive me if this has already been addressed:

*Disclaimer: I understand it is a violation of the T&C at ATS to organize protests etc. That is fine. Let's discuss this from a conspiracy angle...

Why is it that there is such a buzz about these supposed "Tea Parties" when it is impossible to find any info on them? The MSM is for the most part ignoring them, and doing a google search only yields results about the worldnetdaily news story or stories about the stories. There are pics of some small-ish demonstrations, but I have yet to find one iota of evidence that any are actually being organized. Where are these? I can find the latest NAMBLA meeting info for any state in the country, but I cannot find one Tea Party?

Something smells here...

I have been reading this thread and others like it for some time now. I was content on just reading but now I have come to the point that I must speak up about a rediculous notion that I have read time and time again.
It is this notion that it is a partisen issue. No it is the same government entity doing this to its people, its just different politicians blaming eachother for something they are both part of.
We need to throw off the the oppressor, every part of it, and learn from our past mistakes. That's the change we need. Voting blue or red doesn't make a difference. I am not promoting rioting because that will usher in martial law. Besides that, I think most people don't care enough and won't care enough untill it is too late. I fear that tea parties won't be enough and anything involving guns will be a way for TPTB to further rape our constitution and control us.
But anyway, that's my rant.

So what do we do? I would love to fight, but is it to late? I would love to protest, but will that cause more harm to freedom for me and my children? I don't want to stand idle, but my children need a dad.

I guess now I just made the govt watch list, yippee!

:snip:

I AM promoting whatever it takes to usher in martial law. The vast majority of Americans will not wake up and take notice until martial law is declared. They may hem and haw and complain on Facebook about the situation. But very few people will be willing to actually DO anything until they see government boots on the ground on their streets. You put a man in a uniform on the street, even if he's in a Humvee with a .50 cal. mounted on it- that man has a giant target on him. Martial law would draw a line in the sand between the government and the people- and the people would be able to look around and see how many more of them there are on their side.

If martial law is declared, many soldiers and police would abandon their posts, or better yet, turn their guns around. The government will do anything they can to avoid declaring martial law- because if they do- we will have already won.

You can declare martial law in a city- maybe even in a state. But you can't possibly enforce martial law in a huge country of over 300 million people, which just happens to be heavily armed, with the concept of revolution deeply embedded in its national psyche. No armed force in the history of the world even comes close to being powerful enough to pull that off.

A riot, or series of riots- would provoke an armed response from the government. Leading to the necessity of martial law in the areas where the riots occur- which could spark more riots- and snowball from there. It wouldn't be the only way to get the ball rolling, but it's one of them.

People should be protesting Obamas policies, but they are not really socialist. Maybe more of state owned-capitalism. If he was a socialist he would give the factories to the workers, establish a more democratic system and rob the wealthy elite of their power, that includes banks, corporations and all thoe guys currently running the show.

This is the smartest post yet!
It just makes me sick that people will blindly go back to the voting booths in 3 years and vote yet again another Democrat...or Republican back into office...All the while hoping for "change" and change they will get, change from one lobbist group to another, change of wealth from one parties friends to another. I don't like the A.I.G. screw no more than any one....But where is the out rage down here in D.C. at the treasury dept....? They knew those bonuses were on the books...Wheres the out rage that ALL of the senators and congresses retirement funds were wrapped up in A.I.G....? Hu? Where's everyone stance on that...Our government had a vested interest in A.I.G. because it has retirement investment accounts that were insured by this company. Thats why this company is getting "special" treatment... Most of you have bought the mortgage excuse as to why A.I.G. can't fail....Does anyone ever bother looking past the smoke screens..the slight of hand...???? A.I.G. HOLDs our senators retirment..DOES THAT NOT ALARM any of you???

AIG Retirement Government Securities Fund (AIG Inv) [8] Government Securities Variable -0.7100 0.6626 -1.3800 4.0482 -4.5900 4.0482 1.5400 11.4519 4.3500 6.4400 3.1300 4.7052 4.4600 6.1830
AIG Retirement International Government Bond Fund (AIG Inv) [13] Intl Govt Bond Variable -2.1800 3.2205 2.4500 9.6631 -6.3800 9.6631 -10.1700 20.2856 1.1900 7.2659 2.6700 8.1376 3.6900 7.2144

These are just some of the retirment funds that EVERY senator and congress man have a vested interest in.....PROVIDED BY OUR TAX DOLLARS! Think about that... And you think our government is going to "act" and do something....These people at AIG made our politicians millions in retirment investments why would they want to pull the rug out...? This is why AIG is getting the special treatment. We shouldn't be burning down AIG we should be down at congress with the pitch forks and torches people cause it all starts there.

Generally speaking, the thing that smells the most is when a member doubts the veracity of posts or threads but refuses to or cannot read the links upon which same are based.

The purpose of requiring "links" to "snippets" is to provide access to the complete story, I believe.

(If I were a moderator, I'd delete any post that was obviously clueless about the thread. If I was the ATS board, I'd make it a condition of the T & C that replies can only be made by members who read at least the OP.)

Nydsdan, if you go back to the OP and read the link(or have someone read it to you), there is a list, updated daily, of over 150 events already planned.

If you read the "related story" links at the bottom of the OP, you will find access to additional events, organizers and even a "forum" (who would've guessed!?!).

I'm not smart about these things, but I think that's why they are there.

First, I want to clarify that I will fight in whatever arena I can to secure my childrens safety and freedom. I am not sure I made that clear in my first post here.

Having said that, martial law may not be only enforced by our soldiers. The UN will probably step in. So then we not only fight our own govt, we fight the worlds. NWO anyone? I think we the people can win, but it will take extreme resolve and a clear plan to win. Then we will need a plan for after the war so we don't have more of the same, if there is anything left.

I'm ready to fight, but not for a lost cause or more of the same.

Exaclty what did happen - nothing!

What would "of" happened?

We'd have $1.7 Trillion dollars to give directly to homeowners and buyers.

The bailouts and stimulus programs have saved ZERO homes from foreclosure.

Bailout money went strictly to financial institutions to improve their balance sheets.

Stimulus money goes to state and federal programs, none of which has refinanced a single home.

The largest "rescue" gov't. program for mortgage assistance had fewer than 1,000 applicants and has only been given to a few hundred of those.

Any other salvage programs were run privately by lenders and servicers.

(edit to show what would've happened)

WRONG!!! I am in the mortgage/loan modification field. According to UMMA, (United Mortgage Modifiers Assoc.), the Help For Homeowners program that was designed to help 400,000 homeowners that had FHA/VA loans actually helped...............

316

SO THERE! $1,700,000,000,000 DIVIDED BY 316 =

$5,379,746,840.00 PER HOMEOWNER*

NOW DON'T YOU FEEL ASHAMED YOU DOUBTED THE WISDOM OF THE FED?????

*UMMA

NOTE: My calculations may be wrong BECAUSE MY CALCULATOR DOESN'T HAVE THAT MANY DECIMALS!

Help for HomeOwners got 316 approved?

I take it all back.

And, at 1 or 2 points, those would've been some big commissions to the LOs involved.

Hope you got your share.

(at that price, you'd only need one closing per career!)

And now, if Obama caves on the trucks, we'll have Mexican truckers crashing and polluting their way up the NAFTA Superhighway all the way to Detriot!

(p.s.: just heard that the Teamsters called Obama on this and the Whitehouse will back down. We'll see.)

Is anyone really afraid of the UN? A foreign-based occupation force stands even less of a chance than does a domestic one. How many American men do you think would be cowed into submission on their own land by French or Belgian soldiers? Even the meekest of the mild-mannered men of this country would be spurred to violence by such an outrage. How many troops do you think the UN could muster for a force to occupy the US? 30,000, maybe? 100,000 if they have good public relations? Please. They would be crushed before they could establish a foothold. Even little old grannies would take to the streets against that.

I agree with you about the need for a plan after the war is needed. Even more than that, what is needed is leadership- if any resistance movement is to be successful. In this, the status quo has the upper hand. Anyone who rises in popularity enough to become a viable leader will be branded a "terrorist" and/ or otherwise destroyed. Someone will come along, though, sooner or later. When things hit a boiling point, a group of people will rise to prominence in the movement, and we will have our leaders. Hopefully, these leaders will be firmly committed to a return to the original Constitutional form of government, as established by our forefathers. Hopefully, we will have learned from our past mistakes. It's a lot to ask.

The liberals and Obama are loving these "stimulus" bills.

Not as much as the 'conservatives' but perhaps that is arguing about which red apple is the darkest red. Both parties representative structures are filled with mostly greedy swine who will steal as much as they think they can get away with.

It's just another way to make the government bigger in their eyes.

If you go look at the spending of various governments in the last century you will find that both are prodigious spenders with the democratic party not spending all that much less.

At least Bush publicly said many times he was very disappointed that he had to sign them but he felt he had to at the time.

Where on Earth did he say that? How did you get the impression that Bush did not want to make his Wall street buddies richer? Have you ever heard of a liberal corporate owner? Bah.

Probably from all the liberal vultures in congress and in the media putting pressure on him.

The media is owned by American corporations who are by no means liberal. If you can point me to even a few major corporations who have owners that seems 'liberal' in their financial thinking ( who cares if their for gay rights??? ) i would be most surprised to hear about it.

Funny how nothings changed since Obama took office but no one is saying anything about the same exact issues to obama.

It is funny how American such as yourself can be fooled into this partisan bickering while you are getting ripped off to the tune of litterally trillions. Is it so easy to fool you into hating Obama and 'liberals' for doing almost exactly ( well actually doing so so slowly that the conservatives are calling them incompetant and worse) what the conservatives were doing?

So much for being for seeing trough the facade that is the conspiracy by both major American parties to cooperate as best they can in the financial looting of the USA.
