Flight is reporting that the Iraqi President received a briefing on the KAI/Lockheed Martin T-50 as a lead in fighter trainer aircraft. The report says that an Iraqi Air Force pilot went up in a flight in the aircraft as well.

Iraq is considering purchasing Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI)/Lockheed Martin T-50 lead-in fighter trainers, reports The Korea Times newspaper.

A request for the acquisition was made during last month's South Korea-Iraq summit meeting in Seoul, the paper's website reports, citing "sources close to the deal". KAI was not immediately available for comment.

Nice buy for IRAQ.

A F16'ish capable carft, for training and possible defense.

I think it's a good choice.
