Okay already!! I get the message, lofty long-eared elves with
sticks... and things. *BIAD grimaces, but accepts the scolding!*

You seem to have a firm grasp on the principles of camouflage. That's the name of the game - breaking up recognizable forms with blurs, splotches, and out of place lines. contrast is indeed more important than color in that particular enterprise.

That soiled and splotchy look sure eases my mind regarding neno's fading ability. It's much easier for me to think he looks into a bush, and sees a myriad of pretty red flowers among the green, than it is for me to think that he looks into a bush, sees a big, red, human shaped patch, and says to himself "oh, look! A rock!".

Yes, BIAD has this amazing ability that lets him blend into his
surroundings, so that small animals and birds would pass by
and feel safe in the knowledge that a harmless old man/girl in
a raggy dress is pretending to be a tree.

BIAD has dined many an evening on badger droppings and
old nests because of this ruse.

ROTFL! I love this one...

I've got to learn how to do that fade in and out thingy - pretty cool! It would be a great effect for my characters 'morphing' abilities...

Thanks for posting another example of something else to put on my list to learn!

In Adobe photoshop 7, I use the opacity on the Layer and save
each fading image as a Gif into a folder (call it what you will!)

Then in Adobe ImageReady 7 (within Adobe Photoshop) I call
up the folder and it presents the images as slides.
I can select a time for the viewing of each frame,click it to show
me it working and then save the moving image.

As you mentioned above with your images, it's easy when you've
got the software!!!

The other way is to take a deep breath and do this...

I would say neno, because I suspect without much doubt that he's mad as a hatter, but he seems to have misplaced his hat at the moment....

cindymars: Sure. The post for when we run into you and the old elf guy is still a work under construction, and ever changing and metamorphosing. We still have to run into the invisible wall, too..., and elves with bows, arrows, and deadly intent... and, I dunno, we may run into some brigands, cuthroats, or highwaymen, and just flat out have to KILL something to stay in practice. We haven't blown up anything in a long time now...

Back to BIAD: we had the red dress possibility covered. Neno was going to tie it around his head like a Rambo headband or a bandanna, squat on his haunches, grunt, scratch, and maybe eat some dirt... OH, yeah, can BIAD do tattoos with that hair, too? Neno needs some nice tribals, I think...

We ain't gonna kill any elves... for the highwayman, I was pondering something more along the lines of BIAD's Clansmen, come to try to retrieve him after his escape.

It's still a little early on what powers BIAD has... his chief
principle seems to be getting accepted somewhere, whether
his 'body' is willing to assist in that... we'll have to wait!
