I still had time left on my edit so I stuck in a description of the blue security haze thingy based on your post.

I hope it's ok.

I'll change what you'd like.

Perfect description! I give it two thumbs up

Chumley sure has a way with words 'She'll fry ya'

Direct, simple, accurate, and to the point. Economy of language, who'd a thunk it of a Regellian? Neno hafta watch him - he's brighter than first appearances, and doesn't mince words, mumble, or stumble over his speech like neno does.

That's elegance, and I don't care HOW hulking and green it is!

Neno are your men at the bar?
If so, do I need to address them?
Can we assume they are gusrding the door or what?

I need to know ASAP.

Thanks!

Word of the day:
Heinous (HEY-nuhs) adj. - hateful, unthinkable

Example: The prosecutor argued that the teenagers should be tried as adults for their HEINOUS crimes.

Some would think the actions of Studious were heinous.

Joking Studious!

Ya know who I hope Chumley matures into?

Very much like the dude in Sling Blade.

I so want him to come across to readers that way and I hope when you all interact with him you'll help...

Speaking of Studious there CindyMars - I've been looking over my shoulder all night.

What is that Studious up to anyway!
(smiling not frowning)

Sorry, I got thrown on the cyber-defensive in another thread, and as everyone knows, My notion of defense is pretty offensive!

Anyhow, I was tied up (bound and gagged more like it) and forgot to check in as often as normal. Next time that happens, just throw me a U2U.

It's fine to assume the rest of the guards are anywhere you'd like to place them. Being worker bees, they wouldn't be in on the negotiations or anything, but they'd appreciate a whistle-wetter. Hicks will probably still be hovering around Mary Bransom, as his bodyguard duties haven't been unassigned yet, and the rest would likely be either at the bar OR spaced around the room. Not at the door, though, that could have got dicey.

Sure it is cool with me.
Miss your fabulous contributions.I am sure your returm post would be laudible.

Laudable (LAW-duh-bul) adj. - praiseworthy

Example: Jeff's LAUDABLE efforts on behalf of the children won him the admiration of the community.

Post is up, with a link to the full character profile for nenothtu at the bottom. I left a hook in the post for Silo to hang something on if she wants to.

Neno is gonna have an unusual reaction to Ships center, when he gets there.

"Captain my Captain" or words to that effect, can we shake off the fuzzy bits and start saving the universe? we have holes in the fabric of space to sew up and bad guys/girls/things/aliens to shoot at, damsels in distress, black holes in need of a paint, Rigellian love triangles to contemplate, some gratuitous sex and violence to elucidate, maybe we can get Ms Bransom to fall for Chumley!

*rubs hands together sporting evil grin*

The Bransom/Chumley thing can be arranged.....

Side note: My U2U button has stuck, and I can't get up.....

Neno - Great post!

And I'll take that hook and run with it.
I'll be posting within an hour if my power doesn't get zapped again (really bad weather and keep loosing power)...

Who's going next? Let me know so I can give you a plug in to keep it flowing.

Silo, you have morphed the table!

"Chumley our stand-in Security Officer, a Regellian of enormous size sat next to me, CindyMars our Leisure Officer on the opposite side at the head of the table."

The table is supposed to be "round" .....

vis.

"
After the toast to a budding friendship, officer Mars - Cim, neno corrected himself in his mind - ushered the group to a large round table in the Swamp.

Nenothtu was accustomed to sitting at seats in corners, particularly so at bars, even festive ones, so that he could see everything coming his way. It all had to come from the front then, funneled in by the walls, and left him with less real estate to have to watch. Since the current protocol didn't offer that option, neno chose to sit at the table with his back to Harvey, at the bar, and facing towards the doorway."

Hmmm, I know it's round...That's my very first line of my post.

In a manner of speaking I was using *head* of the table, as in leadership.

I'll change it in case others don't get it either.

Thanks!

Neno are you going to write Mary's little speach.
That could be really amusing.
Should she go with us into SHIP's center looking for Studious and the SS?
Will Bransom have any compunction in her antic's. LOL

Compunction (kuhm-PUHNK-shuhn) n. - scruple, regret
Example: Alicia had no COMPUNCTIONS about running up huge bills on her father's credit card.

I'm not sure how best to start Mary's little speech, still bangin' ideas around in my head (the echo noises are killin' me, too!).

Instead of going to Ship's center, I have a strange notion that she's gonna try to get Chumley cornered - poor fella. Better him than me, he's bigger, and can handle himself...

Mary has no compunctions, scruples, shame, or anything of the like, and only has regrets when whatever it is doesn't work. She is, after all, a politician!

Love your new avatar, btw!
