Why raise chicken ?

These fine feathered friends can contribute to the social, economic, and environmental well- being of your community. They help out in the garden and the neighborhood by: • improving garden health, suppressing pests and weeds, and building soil fertility, • giving neighborhood children the opportunity to learn where their food comes from, and • producing nutritious eggs to be enjoyed by their caretakers and sold at farmers’ markets.

Some eggs every day is going to be like having a gold mine in one's garden !

all well & good....

but there are local ordinances about keeping Farm Animals,
chickens, pigs, goats, turkeys in a typical backyard...

but, if regions or pockets of the USA goes into depression,
the police & authorities will look-away as subsistance living
becomes a necessity in many neighborhoods...

Barios might become the first to challenge health officials,
while an 'Appalachian' squalor spreads across the land...

and thats the good news
