Invitation to write Gun Control Poetry

the night was dark my car had stalled
my friend and i walked home
my cell reception *out of area*
the battery dead and cold

a trip of footsteps echoed mine
i didn’t turn around
my hands clenched - my speed picked up
i was frightened by the sound

thrown to the ground
from behind
his hands a stranglehold
thrashing ‘bout my fingers found
my friend - gun metal cold

I fired close range
half clad half live
trigger pulled - percussion jolt
though blood flowed freely
it wasn’t mine
i’d of died without my Colt



(hehehe that was the most fun 5 minutes I've had all day)
