I've started keeping my eyes out for these buildings. It's not that they don't have an actual 13th floor, they just label it the 14th floor and omit the 13th because I guess a lot of people are superstitious.

One such building is the Monroe Park Towers in Richmond, Virginia. Do you know of any?

Haha... Ive seen a few buildings that have "skipped" the 13th floor. its pretty funny I think..Like even the condo I lived in last year did that, they just put the number 14. so technically 14 was 13....but the didnt label it 13. lol. so really instead of it bein 42 floors...it was a lie!! it was only 41!!

I know alot of the casinos and hotels here in Las Vegas dont have a 13th floor per se, its not publicly accessable, but it is used for kitchens and laundry and storage facilities. and is only reachable by service elevators.

Yes, several times.

Some parts of China omit the fourth, fourteenth, twenty-fourth, etc. floors, as the word 'four' sounds like "death" in Mandarin." Spoooooky.

Here's a picture of an elevator without the 13th floor button.

I have been to a few hospitals who have labelled there 13th floor as the 14th.

I guess people are really superstitious about that number.

Where I used to live my adress was 1300. I was the second house from the corner. The house on the corner used to be 1300 but he moved his mail box to the side of his house so it would be on a different street and he would have a different adress.

He told us that if we want We could put our mailbox on his property next to his, he specificly said that he was superstitious about the number 13. We told him thanks but no thanks. This guy is a judge by the way. That never seemed like a good mix to me. A judge being so superstitious I mean....

A hospital in Hazard, KY doesn't have a 13th floor...I vaguely remember seeing the omitted number on the elevator so I asked someone. They said the contractor messed up the calculations and the ceiling is up only four feet. Maybe rat men have inhabited it?

I haven't noticed anything... but think about it for a moment. Wouldn't that be a perfect way for people to keep secrets? I can imagine the CIA building would keep all their info on UFO's and whatnot on the 13th floor. That way no one is looking for it! lol

Yeah I have noticed this too but when you think about it there is STILL a 13th floor even if you just label it 14, so to me it's a bit stupid. I am superstitious but this one always drove me nuts because it's still the 13th floor!

I'm pretty sure I've been to such a building at some point in my life, although I can't recall the exact instance.

I'm anxiously awaiting the day I find the 7 1/2 floor!

I was in a high rise office building in uptown Phoenix years ago and they had no 13th floor. Technically of course they did, but there was no 13 button in the elevater.

Since there were at least 2 dozen different companies leasing in the building, I can only assume it was the business that owned and built the building that pruposely omitted the # 13.

I don't think I've ever seen a "13th" floor in a hotel. They always go from 12 to 14. Personally I love the number 13! My b-day is 11-13 and I see that combo all the time and I think it's lucky!

Well this is a silly question now isn't it.

We all have seen buildings with no 13th floor.

Every city has hundreds if not thousands of buildings with only 12 stories or less.

My birthday is April 13th so you can imagine Friday the 13th is always a good one when it comes round although I forget the calculation but there is a period where it skips umpteen years when a leap year comes round which in itself is also double kudos lol

I'm fairly sure there's no 13 on the elevator pad in the building I live in.

As some said, sometimes, there is a 13th floor, but it's used for maintenance, services, etc., and accessible only by a service elevator, but yeah, it's basic industry superstition to not have a 13th floor for residents/guests....
