well... this can defendantlly affect our magnetosphere .See here: www.space.com... And here is anothe link to spaceweather.com spaceweather.com... (note the first link is from 1999 and the second from yesterday)

The sun has been in a coronal low for awhile now. It should start picking up again sometime this year or so. It should be back at peak in 2012.

link: news.nationalgeographic.com...

As a field line approaches, it latches onto the poles and wraps around the planet like an octopus using a tentacle to snare its prey, he said.

In fact, 20 times more particles get through Earth's magnetic shield when the field lines are aligned than when they are opposed, she said.

I am still searching for a regular picture of what the magnetosphere is suppose to look like.

You already posted a picture of what it looks like when normal:

compare that with an earlier shot before the magnetic storm hit:

Thank you for the vid!!

I am going to put it on the OP - with credit to you.... so people can immediately see "what is normal".

Star for you!

For further comparison, have a look at this youtube vid showing the effects of a magnetic storm hitting the earth:

Then check this sequence of shots showing the impact and how the magnetic field reacts:

Or maybe some low level cel phone interruptions?
Small things im guessing.
No major solar radiation leakage, gammas, or any of that stuff?
I gotta tell you guys, had me kinda nervous about health issues more than the end of the world.
Not immediate things, like wed all die today, but i think someone else posted maybe a higher cancer rate 10 years down the road.
Something like that still possible, or too hard to speculate on?

But the problem is, as I posted a picture of the sun earlier, as it is right now.... there are no sun spots or activity from the sun........... so it can not be doing anything to our magnetic field.

Also, I have found, people who have been keeping an eye on the field, said this is completely abnormal and they have never seen anything like this before.

So nothing is hitting the field right now.... It is falling in on itself, by itself.

Also go to the original link provided and you will see nothing hitting the images provided ------- so, it is not from the sun.

Some of us arent looking for a reason
We may be looking for an outcome.
Silly me to think we could discuss something here.
Ill go back to sleep, ok?
