ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Gov. David Paterson and legislative leaders have announced that federal stimulus funds will allow them to eliminate proposals to enact or raise a series of taxes and fees covering everything from music downloads to sugar-filled drinks.

Paterson joined Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith at an Albany news conference to make the announcement late Wednesday morning.

The state leaders say the funding will allow them to eliminate many of the dozens of taxes and fees in Paterson's mid-December budget proposal. The taxes and fees were supposed to raise more than $1 billion to help close a deficit.

So, here we go. This seems to me that the federal government is basically bribing the state of new york. All of these bail outs are just a way to keep the populous happy. If the tax increases actually went through people would be outraged. taxing bowling, soda-pop, haircuts. I personally believe the Obama Administration are puppets for the NWO. Goodbye open society, hello North American Union....
