You know, you need to lighten up. Reason I say that is because it seems you have more hate for the U.S then we do of you. One guy makes a joke, and you go off ranting like a little child that got his candy bar taken away. This kind of comment shows that alot of americans can dish it out but they can't take it right back . As for your comment that it was one joke maybe from the one fella but what about the other comments were they all jokes as well?

The problem is that it wasn't just one person it was numerous people, and if you think this is normal when the topic had nothing to do with Canada maybe you are the one that needs help?

You apparently think its ok to make jokes about one people while your having an apparent serious discusion about another . With that logic why not make jokes about say, england or africa or maybe start making ethnic jokes . This is crazy logic and this is how racism starts. Read the whole thread and you will find that it was not just the one poster saying what he did about Canada it was numerous.But as soon as I mention Americans I had a problem with all of americans ,but I seem to recall I pointed out that I did not have a problem with all americans unlike all the posters that made rude comments about Canada.Oh ya but when they say it its a joke.

I don't like people insulting my country especially ignorant ones you apparently don't like it either so those that like to insult others by saying its a joke doesn't cut it .

I have alot of african asian mexican and believe it or not american friends but I can't see myself making comments about where there from and then saying it was a joke to try and save face.

I may never understand why foreigners refuse to acknowledge that there is a difference between 'immigrants'. And the ones that do not care to go about it in a legal way.

Not once have we been against people doing it the legal way. If I remember right, plenty of ATS members are legal immigrants to America, and even they do not advocate the breaking of laws.

There really is a huge difference. It just bothers me that people in other countries cannot differentiate, and assume Americans have a problem with other nationalities. Which is not the case.

i live in wisconsin and last summer we had an illegal shoot and kill an officer the funeral procession went from millwaukee to kenosha thats about 26 miles long.. big news here till after the funeral then i didnt hear much about it.. but then again i had so much goin on that i didnt really get the chance to follow the story... i do believe they caught the guy..but dont know what happened to him..i'll look it up and get back to you guys on that.. i'm not a big fan of our police force.. but this really pisses me off..

As to the original issue at hand, I agree that politics play too large a role here, and I think it's based more on the cheap labour end of things than hustling hispanic votes. As Beck said, those who came in through the front door wouldn't support those sneaking in through the back.

But before you call out the death squads, bear in mind that not every illegal is a drug smuggler or a welfare cheat.

I almost picked up my monitor and threw it after watching that video. Glen Beck is right on the mark. I don't know who is more detestable here, the illegal's or our scummy politicians. Who have urinated all over our constitutional rights and freedoms for the sake of potential votes. Whats going in this country is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.

The real story here isn't immigration, it's that Mexico's drug cartels are actually influencing US politicians.

The drug cartels have as many soldiers as the Mexican military, and many of the soldiers in the military are actually sympathetic to the drug cartels. The situation is about to boil over, and Mexico's political system is likely to collapse.

An easy way to fix this (and Ron Paul would do this in a heartbeat, but nobody else will) is to immediately legalize marijuana and give modest tax subsidies to American corporations who are manufacturing marijuana (and possibly a few other drugs) legally, in America. Obviously, the Mafia would swoop in an take over this new industry -- but the Mexican drug cartels would be dead within six months.

If we don't do this -- now -- then Mexico is very likely to collapse and this type of story is going to become a lot more common.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff have alerted Congress of this escalating problem. Do you think they'll actually do something about it, even if it's politically unpopular? Or do you think that they'll sit on their hands and continue pandering for votes?

After the whole FEMA disclosure/nondisclosure with Glen, I took a break from him this week. This morning, I turn on the radio and was listening to his program. He goes into a rant about how all of these current day issues is really bringing us all closer togeather - we are more loving to our mates, friends, children - no longer taking for granted the day to day life we have today....I was totally feeling the warm fuzzies. Then he goes, you should show your wife how much you really love her with flowers from blah blah blah. ::grumbles:: I'd been had.

Glen has a charisma. His show title is even 'the fusion of entertainment and news.' He has a way of getting us all riled up. I admit it works on me too. I'm just becoming a little skeptical of his motives.

I can't agree with you more. It is not only disgraceful it is downright criminal. The system has gotten out of control and has been manipulated by the few to benefit the few.

I'm a first generation American. My parents left from Cuba when they were children, for the same reason most if not all our families left their respective countries of origin....because it was apparently a better place to be.... now my parents didn't barge their way in... they went through the long process of naturalization... they were shuffled around the states until they ended up in Miami, FL. they left because of the lawlessness in Cuba and the coming "Revolution". for a better life.... to get on topic....i don't think we should CLOSE our borders but i do agree they should be as tight as a virgin! and patrolled with guards armed to the teeth... serious...let one of these f-in drug smugglers come face to face with a Mini Gun (6 barreled Gatling gun)...see who wins.... see who gets deterred from crossing that border....maybe some sort of land based PHALANX system....i mean we're spending a zillion dollars on the dumb war on terrorism.... there's terror right on our borders.... screw the MIDDLE EAST and protect the SOUTHWEST!!!

2. Stick em on the border and in Mexico to rid them of the cartel problems

3. With help the economy will build itself, mexicans will want jobs in their now safe homeland, the still relatively cheap produce would help keep China gettin too big for their boots thinking they make everythin in the world

4. More American jobs are available for the American people due to Mexicans migrating back home

Everybody wins... bar the American government who make money off the drug cartels...
