Darkness falls for a moment
so that the angels can not see
the mess that we have made
of what was once a place of beauty
The blue skies turned a sickening gray
the lush green forests
cut down and paved
The crystal clear waters
now muddied with shame
no one cares down here
we point fingers of blame
The earth is our mother
a gift we have abused
take what can be taken
and use what can be used
The soil now heavily poisoned
the rivers polluted with trash
we are on a collision course
and are just about to crash
The darkness falls for a moment
not to bring about fears
it falls every evening
to hide the angels tears....

I had to reply to this one.

Honestly that was amazing. I'm not just being nice. lol
I'm sometimes a little dark in my poetic approach but the ending was perfect!
Kind of reminds me of something from the book of counted sorrows!

Both the message and wording are tops...

Good stuff...

I enjoyed this piece, quite a lot actually. Your vivid verbiage was like a literary oil painting. A tragic topic that could have come off cliche was beautifully written and all together touching. Star for you.

Very nice, I associated the skies turning a sickening grey not only with pollution but also with chemtrails, is this correct?
