Many Americans are having trouble making ends meat. The entire economy is "in crisis," and these jokers are giving themselves a raise as most people are taking pay cuts or completely losing their livelihood.

Keep in mind, these crooks work for what is arguably the most CORRUPT and BANKRUPT organization on earth.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that I think they deserve it. Think of all the talent and hard work, not to mention the mysticism involved in turning everything they touch into stone.

The raise is BS...how any of them could ask for a raise right now is ridiculous..especially when about half of them are MILLIONARES.

The earmarks....even if they were taken out of the bill...that money would still be spent.

Well why the heck not? I mean, they know we will keep bending over and taking it in the pooper and all they have to worry about is a little whining. We will not do anything.

Our leaders are going to push us too far eventually though.
Either that or we will be forced to endure slavery....Even moreso than we are forced to now. Right now the majority of the US citizenry would probably be better described as endentured servants.....but with no end in sight. I wonder if they take into account the number of citizens in this country who possess firearms?

The FF knew this inevitability. The idea of freedom being something that has to be fought for (from ones own government) or that requires sacrifice has become a distasteful or unspeakable concept now.

Didn't your country war over the fact that too much in taxes was being taken and squandered by the Monarchy?

I can't say I'd be surprised to see it happen again.

You gotta give Hugo Chavez credit for this: at least he tells you up front what he wants to turn his country into. Here, we whittle away at liberty until what we are left with is unrecognizable.

I agree that we have to figure out something to do about this. The problem is revolution is highly profitable to old money because they always fund both sides and guns and ammunition cost money. Also no matter who you put in place, they always ending up doing the same thing: exploiting the people they govern.

No, we need to think of something really clever to stop this madness but I don't know what it is. Their favorite thing is to keep a bunch of our money (generous salary, generous benefits, regular raises, huge expense account) and spend the rest on their friends. What can we do about this?

That, of course, doesn't deal with the massive debt being generated. That is inexcusable. We need to have some say in this. Our elected officials are not representing the interests of the people in this.

obama has always spoken admiringly of socialism. it's not really a surprise that he is transforming our government into running more and more things. that's why he was voted in.
