Well here ya go folks.

What happened to taking care of US citizens first?

I understand socialism, almost Marxism here in the USA but this is ridiculous.

An estimated 300,000 construction jobs paid for by the stimulus plan will go to illegal workers after leading Democrats removed a provision requiring verification of citizenship, a leading immigration expert tells Newsmax.

The House version of the \$787 billion stimulus bill required verification of the legal residency of anyone put to work by its spending. But that provision was removed from the bill before members of Congress met to reconcile the House and Senate versions of the bill.

Steven Camarota, director of research for the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), tells Newsmax the verification provision was deleted by Democratic leaders even before the bill reached the conference committee, where differences between House and Senate legislation are normally ironed out.

“When it got to conference, the top people -- not just the conference members, but the top people: Reid, Pelosi, and Obama -- chose to kill the provision and not include it,” Camarota says. “This was a purposeful decision.”

Maybe just maybe things like this will teach the rest of the US it's time to wake up. Our government doesn't care about us. It is close to time to decide which side you are on big brother's or everybody USA. I choose the latter how about you.

The verification process that is being squashed is known as E-Verify. It has been brought up, and shot down, many times. Now, Obama has delayed it further.

I don't know how a politician can justify being against this. It is ridiculous to oppose verification of residency.

He won't show proof that he is a Nationalized Citizen why would he care anything about illegal immigrants. I am not saying he is nationalized or not but I would have shown proof by now if I was.

The way I read some sort of reason to this is as follows; Obama wants this Stim Pack to succeed. My not having the Verify, companies can work their budgets with SLAVE wage numbers , Enticing them to take the plunge. The REAL citizens DONT MATTER.

Well, to be fair one must acknowledge that most of the jobs illegals do are jobs NO American citizen would even think of doing.
I see it here in LA. Who crawls on his knees on the street, digs in the dirt, stands in the middle of fecal to uncloak the pipe? It's Hispanics, because no one else would touch tis kind of work....

So, Americans can be grateful because otherwise our cities would look like sh@#t....

That's not always the truth. You have greedy employers who would rather stiff an illegal than pay a fair wage.

That is the most ignorant thing I have ever read in my life.
Americans have been doing those jobs way before the illegals have. The reason we dont do them anymore is ( thats right you guessed it)that the illegals took the jobs over! Wow. Its so hard to comprehend I know.
Let me tell you, Americans would do any work it took to feed their family, and right now, people are starving.

Really? I don't know about the left coast, but the illegals here- mostly Bolivians and El Salvadorans, work landscaping, construction, housekeeping, retail, and restaurant jobs. I didn't realize those types of jobs were above most Americans.

do you wanna know why illegals continue to get thru "cracks" and "loopholes" in america

Because Corporate lobbyists walk through the halls in congress and corporations want the lowest overhead costs i.e wages....

At 600,000 per month layoffs and people losing their homes I think they will take anything they can get now.

US citizens should be offered the jobs first and foremost, if they refuse then maybe just maybe we can consider illegals.

If you want a real stimulus plan that would work. Fire the illegals and hire Americans. Knocks a dent in the unemployment and gets money back into the economy.

That is ridiculous! They already take jobs away from citizens and they got from this country than we do as citizens it's sick. Oh everyone feels sorry for the illegal ones because they are just trying to make it in this country, well news flash so are WE! You should NOT be allowed to work here if you are illegally not allowed to be here. My friends husband lost his job to illegals because they would work for less. It really pisses me off. I live in FL and see this happening more and more and it just drives me nuts!

Nice post btw and sorry for the rant..lol

Kick out all that cheap foreign labor and the cost of everything goes up -- from your house to fruit. Not to mention the revenue lost to businesses who benefit from the wages that immigrants earn.

More than 90 percent of native workers (ie: "real citizens") benefit from the immigration of low-wage labor because immigrants take jobs that complement higher-paid native workers rather than competing with them. Only the low-skilled "real Americans" are negatively impacted by immigration, and it has a net-benefit for the larger economy -- and that is something that economists are nearly unanimous on.

And the argument that "so-and-so lost his job because those illegals would do it so cheap" is insane. They are working for the fair market wage. If the person losing is legally incapable of working for that wage, then that's a problem that you should take up with the .gov and with the unions. "The illegals" are working for the equilibrium price of labor in that particular field -- which is how capitalism is supposed to operate.

Look at the history of immigration: the economy rocketed when we saw massive influxes of Eastern European, Irish, and Italian populations (even though people complained that "they took our jobs").

I suggest that you have uncovered the governments not-so-hidden
plan in stimulating the workforce >as a part of the economy...

300,000 paying jobs, regardless of their ethnicity, begins the 'money multiplier effect'...
but, to stereotype the Mexicans etc, the 300,000 jobs will allow the 1.5 million extended family members in those 1+million households to
sustain themselves modestly, continue to drive an underground economy,
generate sales taxes on the taxable portion of their legal income,
give birth to many more future citizens.

the bean counters at those gov't agencies, have projection models for whatever policy they will chose from... the inclusion of hiring illegals
must have shown the best benefit or the policy would not have been adopted

imho, thanks
