Please join me in apologizing to the citizens of the United Kingdom for the atrocious way president Obam treated Prime Minister Brown, to the gift of a pen holder carved from the timbers of H.M.S. Resolute, and a first edition of a 7 volume biography of Winston Churchill - Obama reciprocated with 25 unwatchable DVDs in the UK , and an insult returning the bust of Winston Churchill that was given as a gift after 9-11. from the bottom of my hart I apologize to you, we love you and respect you ,UK brothers and sisters.

And refused to have a press conference, as is normal when a foreign diplomat visits and did not allow any British flags. To me that was a pretty big insult as well.

Please forgive the current president. He does not represent all of the American people, no do all Americans have such bad manners.

I forgive him, he's saving money and can't justify spending thousands of dollars on a big formal dinner for already overfed officials, and probably he has the same low opinion of Brown as the majority of UK residents.

Good on him i say.

I have no reason to appologize for anything. I didn't vote for the guy! All the Obama maniacs can appologize for voting him into office.

Why is it still necessary to give tribute? Call it a gift, token of appreciation, present, whatever, it's still tribute being paid to a leader as a sign of goodwill.

In economic times such as these should we be showering our allies with gifts that will just be cataloged and archived away from the public eyes for the rest of time? I think I can find a better use of the money.

I think that we should really be pointing out that gifts are not necessary. The taxpayers(you know, average citizens, the ones who actually have to pay their taxes, unlike cabinet members) get no access to the items that their money purchases for the opulent government figures. And they also get no access to the gift purchased by the taxpayers of the visiting dignitary's country. Why the heck should any taxpayer be paying for any gifts when we have a massive deficit and are borrowing trillions just to make it through the year?

I do understand that these gifts are traditional between leaders but if the citizens are really that upset about not getting a present(that they will never have access to anyways), they really need to have their reality adjusted, perhaps with a boot to the head.

There is no indication of ill will by the President, and certainly none by the the citizens of either nation, so why the heck should we the citizens apologize for something that we had nothing to do with other than the fact that the DVDs were undoubtedly placed on the bill of the taxpayer?

Personally I think it's pretty weak to apologize for something as unimportant as this. And to anyone who disagrees, please feel free to exercise your rights guaranteed under the 1st amendment (and why not the second while you're at it?)

Obama said he was going to go line by line and eliminate wasteful programs, maybe the gift exchange was one of them.

But hey that's just my 2p.

You do realize it was not a gift GIVEN to us, but LOANED to us. It was supposed to be returned by the Bush Administration.

I think this is kind of silly... first of all Mr. Brown is a total fascist globalist pushing forward with a total police state in the UK. He is clearly trying to bring about the NWO which anyone with any eyes and ears can plainly see by his rhetoric.

He is not a good person, working for the interests of the UK citizenry, and I fear he is really just a mindlessly controlled zombie of the NWO. Nothing good for the UK will come from him.

Who cares if Obama was rude to him, they both are globalist scum. And I resent both of their agendas towards a new world order.

I only apologize to the UK for having been duped by a mad man named Gordon Brown. The man is a disgusting person, who picks his nose and eats it during Parliament talks, and trembles like a scared little girl when he is being exposed for the fraud that he is.

Load of crap. He's writing trillion dollar checks with money that doesn't exist. He's not trying to save anything.

It wasn't about money. It was likely intended to be offensive.

He wants new diplomatic allies that are anti-traditional American.

He's going to embrace all of our avowed enemies and alienate our allies.

Just another way to break down what's left of the USA and make room for the SSA.

Gotta love that "Change"

Let's hope that if Obama visits the UK he gets a free ticket to the London Dungeons as his tribute eh!

Nope, not going to appologize. Not gonna do it. I voted for Obama and I don't think he did anything wrong.

The bust of winston Churchil was returned because Obama wanted the bust of Lincoln in the oval office.

You can certanly see why, Lincoln was from Illinois and so is Obama, kinda makes sense to me.

And are DVDs offensive as gifts now? I mean it could be worse, he could have given Brown a subscription to the fruit of the month club.

We love you too American brothers and sisters but a lot of people, quite justifiably here in the UK, detest Calamity Brown. The man is a walking disaster and Obama is quite right to try and distance himself from this monstrocity of a leader. The sooner we can get rid of him and his Big Brother control freak government the better.

Don't worry citizens of America. We honestly don't care

(speaking on behalf of the Brittish public...)

They can play their silly games all day long, and they do. Knowing the way these clowns do things, it was probably some symbolic swapping of gifts, proficised to happen and entreched in a deep ritual involving owls. The DVDs were either top notch rich people porn, or secret stuff.

Clarckson best described Gordy wordie. 1 eyed Scottish Idiot (no offence to Scottish people, whom I usually love, and shock most of them by never asking them to repeat theirselves
)

Kindest regards..

But I really don't think there was a lot of people in the U.K that was offending by the new Presidents actions, PM Brown is not very well liked over here,

Presidents and Prime Ministers come and go its the relationship between the people that counts and I like to think that has always been pretty solid..!!

Change isn't about kissing butts and certainly not about protocol. It's a good sign to me, and frankly I think it's stupid that this is in the world press.

Meanwhile... Rick James takes her nude.
