I find myself in a crowd
surrounded by voices
the chatter of the masses
yet the silence is deafening
I see you
there with the quizzical brow
gazing upon me as if I am wild
A thing you do not understand
I am looking thru you
you are a shell
Your eyes are dead
so are your words
you vomit what you do not grasp
things you have been taught
but you can not explain
because you know not
of what you speak
Go the way of the lifeless
down the darkened path
fatten yourself on ignorance
and pat yourself on the back
boast of your empty speeches
for I shall remain in the silence
my place of safety
my sanctuary
my mind.....

Reminds me of Portishead:

Silence

Esteja alerta para as regras dos 3 O que você dá, retornará para você Essa lição você tem que aprender Você só ganha o que você merece Tempted in our minds Tormented in silence Wounded, I'm afraid inside my head Falling through changes Did you know when you lost? Did you know when I wanted? Did you know what I lost? Do you know what I wanted? Empty in our hearts Crying out in silence Wandered out of reach, too far to speak Drifting, unable. Did you know when you lost? Did you know when I wanted? Did you know what I lost? Do you know what I wanted?

www.youtube.com...

Music is poetry as poetry is music.

What was the inspiration for your poem? I mean, other than drawing my own conclusions from the text.

To be honest with you, I was thinking about going back to work tomorrow...lol I work with the public and at times I have to escape inside my own self to drown out the "noise"... There are days that are draining on me mentally...listening to viewpoints and beliefs and life histories...I don't mean to sound hateful, I don't mind at the time, but it gets to me...
Thanks for reading!
