Have You Seen Watchmen??

Hey has anyone here seen Watchmen yet?

It looks like a weird movie, and I want to watch it.

Is there anyone here who's watched it that thinks events in the movie are subliminal/or a "warning" of what's to come?

It was a great movie it stayed true to the comic it self.
Dr. Manhattan talks a lot about metaphysics which I find interesting.
*spoiler*the villain(or is he??) Ozymandias I find is a very symbolic person
with the Egyptians.

But other than that I didn't really pick out any symbols or underlying
messages. Dr. Manhattan says a lot of interesting things.

Like on a totally random whim, I actually started a thread about this yesterday.. I saw it on Friday and was surprised to see that there wasn't a thread about the film since it's release.

I found the trailer very interesting.

It says:

In 2009....Everything we know will change...and then it shows the blue alien like humanoid creature...people rioting...bombs...wars...corrupt politicians,etc.

I find that a bit "odd".

I wonder if they will explore the Rorschach character, from what i remember, he became a costume hero, because of the murder of Kitty Genovese (who was an actual incident where a woman was brutally raped and murdered as people in apartment building listened in fear). The Rorschach character reminds me very much of batman, where he believes evil will triumph if good men do nothing.
