Forgive if this has already been discussed. I did a search and only found questions about what else may be inside Fort Knox. Over the past few years I've noticed a lot of people trying to sell gold on television, and wondered if the US Government might be trying to sell off the gold in Fort Knox in order to raise capital. Here's a small sampling of what I've found so far.

wiki.answers.com...

Would like to know if anyone else has thought this, or seen evidence of it other than all these people selling gold on the TV.

simple answer, NO. There is none.
I would suggest watching the documentary "money Masters"
video.google.com...
it talks about the gold in fort knox being looted over 20 years ago.

great resource, tyvm.

A very interesting video, and prophetic even. I didn't swallow it whole, but I definately see some truth in it. Some of the history was different from what I have learned in the past, but not impossible.

The Fort Knox part gave me some perspective into my question.

Dragonking:

One time when I was talking conspiracies with a coworker of mine who was ex-army he said that not all of the gold is in Fort Knox. He told me that there is some there but most of it is hidden outside of the United States.

FWIW....

Yes it is. The real questions is just how much of it is still ours?
I agree with the above posters I doubt we still own 1/10th if even that.

ty for the input. I always felt like Fort Knox was the basis of our wealth, I'm starting to be disillusioned.

Until I looked up Fort Knox, I thought that our money was still backed by gold. I was never told or taught differently. It's amazing what isn't taught in our education system that is fact. I guess lies via omitting the truth is a pretty common thing though.

Rare , comprehensive analysis from someone outside the precious metals community. Academician Stewart Dougherty weighs-in on Central Bank Gold manipulation , and the probabilities associated with US Gold reserves

Stewart Dougherty is a specialist in inferential analysis, the practice of identifying patterns and trends in specific, contemporary events and then extrapolating their broader implications and likely effects upon the future. Dougherty was educated at Tufts University (B.A.), and Harvard Business School (M.B.A. and an academic Fellow).

My source was on paper and a few years back. There might be a small percent of the US reserve gold in Fort Know still, but not much.

Moved to places undisclosed for security reasons. Probably much converted.

Brings up the question of the gold said to have been stored under the WTC. Does anybody know how much. how much was lost, etc?
