I'll start by saying that Rush Limbaugh is an idiot. There, I said it.

Why in the WORLD would Obama oblige this request? He won't, and he shouldn't. People who wish for this to happen are trying to wiggle any worthless point against the President that they can. I'll tell you quite simply why he won't go on. Because YOU CAN'T WIN A DEBATE with someone who controls the flow of conversation and has the ability to speak over you by killing your mic feed.
And you KNOW he would do it.

All you need is to look at how he handles virtually every caller he has ever had on the show. He talks over them and belittles their opinions.

Rush Limbaugh isn't just a cancer on the Republican Party, he epitomizes everything that has gone wrong with the media in this country, regardless of political affiliation...

Oh, and I think I forgot to mention he is a pill-popping hypocrite.

That being said, I don't have any nice words for Obama either. He is a one-man wrecking crew. Following in the footsteps of the LAST one-man wrecking crew (Bush).

It is time to kick them ALL to the curb.

*stands up and applauds TheRedneck*

Excellent post. Starred. And I think you're right about this bit:

I should also mention that the next target once talk radio is safely being moved out of the way, will be an earnest attempt to kill the freedom of the Internet. I believe the old time-tested cry of "Save the children" will be one of the tools used to sway public opinion. Actually, this is already in the works, evidenced by the many stories about stalking and abuse by Internet 'thugs' as well as the many viruses that are being developed (you really don't think some of these recent sophisticated viruses were created by some 12 y/o kid in his basement, do you?).

I hope everyone goes back and re-reads what you wrote. Seriously. Everyone go back a page and read what TheRedneck wrote.

And for those who are now just bashing Rush, be thankful for your freedom of speech to do so. Perhaps you should defend Rush's right to freedom of speech as well?

As far as internet censorship goes, has anyone noticed the media talking about the file-sharing sites being used to plant trojans to steal your info?

As if that is news. That has been going on for quite some time. Like an above poster said though, they are starting to pave the way for the removal of our 1st amendment rights.

Why doesn't rush debate Ronald McDonald or one of the Muppets. Kermit the Frog, perhaps.

It's for entertainment purposes only, I would assume.

That sells. If he were not so "out there" on so many issues, he would not be making so many millions per year.

This whole p*****g match is just a farce. The Obama admin made a comment insinuating that Rush is the head of the GOP because the GOP is in a leadership void right now and so Rush is taking advantage. It is akin to somebody in the Bush administration calling Jon Steward the head of the Democratic party back when the Democrats seemed to be lacking leadership after 2004.

Same old stuff, different day. Obama will not debate Rush, and that is actually good politics. Just as Bush would have never gone on Jon Stewart's show.

It is the hateful leading the deaf or something like that.

Will anything come out of this? Probably more divisiveness to push us closer to fighting in the streets. That is what TPTB want anyway... how else to sell new prisons and detainment centers and tactical gear to the corpgov string-pullers?

Love him or hate - he makes a whole lot more sense when he speaks than Obama ever hoped. Obama will never do this. He'll take his swipes, make him comments and innuendos - but - he knows better than to debate Rush Limbaugh. I'm sure Rush would expose him for the bumbling beginner that is becoming more apparent everytime he opens his mouth and our cash till.

I would pay to see this on pay per view.............

Oh no, this would actually be Rush's dream come true.
If Obama were to actually go on the show (no chance in hell) Limbaugh would laugh all the way to the bank.
He would act as he always does with callers (like a complete jerk) in the hopes that Obama would get flustered.
Limbaugh would be spinning everything to the emotive and when Obama went there, Rush would win.

Then the Republicans would REALLY have something to hold over his head.

Like I said before, you cannot possibly win such a debate. Rush controls the flow. He is like the moderator/participant...

Hell, I'll debate ANYONE on those terms... and win every time.
It is a fool's errand.

PS - As it stands now, Rush knows Obama won't take him up and he'll talk about it from now to eternity how Obama was too cowardly to oblige him. In reality, Obama has many more important matters on his hand than to debate with a brick wall.

My contention was with your generalization that everyone who was against Bush is for Obama and simply doesn't care how much he or the Democratic Congress spend.

Things aren't nearly as black and white as you would like them to be.

In reality, your inclination to paint everything with two colors is exactly what the REAL BAD GUYS want you to do. They WANT you to say "well, if you're against bush you must be for obama."

People need to wake the F-up! It is BOTH OF THEM. They are ALL evil and they ALL NEED TO GO.

thats the problem with america today

democrats make generalizations about republicans
republicans make generalizations about democrats

you can disagree agree with me thats fine

i think the world would be a better place if things got back to black or white
right or wrong and eliminatete the shades of gray-the future of this country is too important

In order for that to happen we would first need to purge the system of all the corrupt bastards that occupy the capitol...

Like I said, they all need to be kicked to the curb.
Perhaps THEN we could talk about moving towards a set of standardized goals...
As it stands now, the system is rigged to confuse people with shades of Grey. But the problem is, all the grey colors are the issues that don't really matter anyhow. Or issues that the Federal Government has no business meddling in in the first place.

We need to move back towards more emphasis on States' Rights to Governance...

There is a start. Lets go from there.

Considering he is a flatulent, draft dodging, drug gobbling hypocrite and liar - yes, absolutely! He is a phony, a fraud and has no place in the political discussion anymore.

This is nothing more than a distraction from important issues. Crooks are running this government. Nothing has changed except that there are new faces -- and a lot of the old faces. The criminals that gave us Katrina' aftermath are still here. Those that lied us into war with Iraq are still here. The crooks that bankrupted us are still here - in power and posing as our new saviors. This is the same government, leading us down the same path to utter ruin and you want to spew this rubbish?

Shame on you!

Well if Bush had said "I want to work with democrats and Jon Stewart is the head of the democrat party" I would expect Bush to accept an offer to debate Jon Stewart.

Of course Obummer will never debate Rush. That's because Obummer doesn't really want to work with the GOP. He only wants that facade.

Now, Rush has called him on it.

Rush has just put Obama in "check mate" and Obama has no moves left other than to ignore the chessboard and start playing another game.
